about the controller not working issue you all keep mentioning: start steam as administrator or start the exe as administrator. I recently had to learn this myself. even with 3dmigoto installed it will still work if you start the game as administrator.

Dead boss, can't figure out how to get the mods to work. At least I wasn't able to get them working in the Gallery. Whether or not they work in the actual game, I don't know. As I honestly haven't played the PC release. I used to play it all the time on PSVita, just haven't had the time to replay it on PC. So the mods may work in the actual game. But I'm assuming if they don't work in the gallery, with a full save that I downloaded with everything unlocked, they don't work at all. But, I can't personally verify. So you could install the mods and play through the game and test. But that's entirely up to you.

But the gist of it is, nothing in this topic currently works. You would have to take the files and start fresh with the tool (3dmigoto) to get them working. And no offense, you don't seem to have the experience.

Currently? No. Pretty sure there isn't. The trouble with the newer SAO games (even if HR isn't that new anymore) is that they're a pain to mod. It's a lot of time and effort to invest, and unless there's a commission involved there generally isn't enough incentive to go through that much hassle.

 

That's not to say there isn't someone who would be willing to do this, or to try anyway, but I wouldn't count on seeing anything any time soon. The world isn't exactly in a good state right now and a lot of people have a lot on their plates, so modding tends to get a back seat unless it's a simple thing to do or unless there's some form of compensation involved.

Good news!  With the vb_merge.py and vb_split.py scripts written by amorrow28, mesh editing in this game is now possible using 3DMigoto.

idk if its his 3DMigoto's d3dx.ini is making this problem.

Just in case anyone is working on editing meshes in SAOHR but later find that the texture is not displayed properly, here is a possible workaround:

 

Change "vb7 = Resource_Model_xxx_VB7" to "vb7 = Resource_Model_xxx_VB6"

 

I wish this way worked for SAOAL too...

You may have noticed I left out Premiere, Tia, Yui and Seven. I can include them if people wish it, I just thought they looked too young (although 3 of those 4 are just AI to be fair). I've also left out male characters as I personally don't sway that way but if people want them included I'd be more than happy on the condition they supply me the materials I need. (PM for more info on that)

 

There will likely be other bits and pieces thrown into the first version too. For example, Silica's conversation about hating tentacle monsters and how they are attracted to her is a bit more revealing about what they like to do

Eventually I aim to replace all Pillow Talk dialogue as well as the romantic dating conversations (the ones at night or romantic locations) though they are a lot of work and the order of each line of dialogue they speak isn't in order in the game files meaning I need to screenshot every single line of dialogue they can speak in a specific conversaion, then cross reference it and be careful of any overlapping lines...

If anyone is interested in helping, I'd be grateful. Mostly wouldn't mine a hand just with the writing parts since there's so much.

Just a small update, it applies smoothly to other characters when gifting the outfit, ive got it working only for a certain armor in game because i cant seem to edit the materials, ill try to figure that out and fix a lot of things yet.

Btw, how am i supposed to play it natively with controller? i dont want to remap stuff :C, im playing on steam version

Looks good! You should be able to see a "controller layout" on the library page as long as you have a controller connected. Next click "recommended template" and it should bring up "template" and "community layouts". From there, there might be a community template that someone else hopefully has remapped. You can export that. If not there unforuntately you might have to map it yourself or play with a mouse and keyboard.
