Kristace Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 Okay so i downloaded demoniac skin textures and couldn't find answers to this issue on nexus or anywhere else and people on her seem pretty helpful. So i chose 4K fair skin and then the 8K glossy skin (yes, my computer can handle it) and im not sure if its an ENB or lighting issue but the skin/body isn't glossy/wet looking... it's got more of a weird shiny look and even tho i chose no face shine, the face still appears shiny. Are there settings anywhere that need tweaked or am i doing something wrong? Now it doesn't really look too awful... but i do still hate the face shine.
27X Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 spec maps. regenbot considers vinyl and water to be made of identical molecules.

myuhinny Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 You could try opening the body nif files that your character is using and click the body and go to the BSLightingShaderProperty line for the body and click the arrow to get the drop down and go down to Glossiness float and change the value from what it is to a higher value max is 1000 and then overwrite the nif then repeat for the other body nif. If you do something to one nif you must do the same thing to the other nif or nothing will change in game. So edit either the _1 nif or _0 nif and then repeat for the other nif. By altering the glossiness float it can increase how glossy the body. You can also try editing the head nif if you know which one it is. Spoiler
27X Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 You can reduce the base specularity as myuhinny suggested or pick different spec maps from someone who actually understands what water and skin look like and also doesn't double compress the fuck out of every map they touch, ala Haley or Maevan2. You can also simply reduce spec strength in the enb itself.

Hide contents Oh wow.... i dont know how to do any of that.... i dont have Nifscope either. Is it easy to do?
myuhinny Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 @Kristace Pretty easy just go to the mesh folder with the body nifs and double click it and nifskope will open it then edit it and overwrite the nif. Make sure to back up the files for safe keeping just in case you make a mistake. You'll have to download nifskope which is free.
深淵の神 Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 NifSkope Maevan2's Mature Skin Texture for CBBE - UNP hope this helps
-Player1- Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 .dds = diffuse map, the compressed texture itself_msn.dds = the body's normal map_s.dds = this is a gloss/shine map_sk.dds = sub surface details Use the .dds from Pure the msn.dds from .. whatever the s.dds from demoniac the sk.dds from whatever. Or install pure and do the gloss with nifskope. Also, 8k maps for a living, moving object are bs anyways. you basically won't see a difference to 4 k

myuhinny Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 There are also gloss ENB's but the bad thing about those is that they gloss everything but caves and dungeons do look cooler.

Ive got two 7680 x 4320 cuw uhd screens. 2080ti and additional stuff to back it up. You don't see it, if you don't press your nose against the screen. Bad for your eyes, dood. dont do that. (Talking about SKYRIM here, with a few textures changed to 8k) Even with perfect ENB and lighting combination it's basically non-existent lolol. I'm not telling you to use 4 k. ive got 8k on everything i can myself - but there is basically no difference. Maybe if you go for screenshots with special enb's designed for that like snapdragon. But even then, the difference is so small, why bothering. then again, if you got the hardware, why not. It's not like there are differences like that : (even if people like to see it that way.......) Spoiler It's more like that Spoiler Sure there is a difference. But can you spot it without pressing your face against the screen or without actively looking for it? And we are talking about 8k AIO, not a single map or texture. Not to mention that the 8k picture was taken some time after the 4k one and the wind changed some details.
