The game needs a specific configuration to be stable. It is a problem of the LE version and that is why many users have many CTDs and strange problems with the game. A bad configuration in the base game, the lack of a tool or an incorrect value in a parameter can generate many strange problems. In your case, probably, these modifications consume all the available space in the memory blocks and when the game runs out of memory it does CTD. Removing those mods frees up enough memory to not do the CTD. The SKSE memory patch only increases the size of the memory blocks and that simple operation solves many strange problems and CTDs in the game. Pretty sure I had all of the stability tools (the ones that were available in 2014/2015) Thing is, I tried adding all those mods back in just to see what happens, still no crashes at Embershard Mine. Plus the Bashed Patch drops my active mods from 186 to 159. Plus it probably didn't help years ago when I had about 10-15 different mods that added dragons to the world.

Your problem may have been caused simply by the updates of the mods. Surely, the old versions of the years 2014/15 had less armor or less polygons or fewer components or less misions. When installing new versions that have more armor or the same but retouched and modified with more polygons, more memory is consumed. That way the 2015 version does not give you any problem but the new version does give you problems. Any mod that you add of update can cause this or similar problem. Another fact to keep in mind is that the Memory Blocks are consumed as the game progresses. When you are level 1 the game consumes less memory than when you are level 10 because at level 1 many quest have not been started. As the game progresses, the quest are activated, you add more elements to your inventory, upgrade skills, learn new spells ... and logically all that consumes memory. That is why the game is much more stable at the beginning. As we advance the history and activate the especial misions from the mods we can start finding strange problems. It is possible that when you start a new game everything works perfectly but when you load your savegame everything is a problem. Many people think that this is caused by problems in the savegame and the solution they give is to throw all the savegames in the trash and start a new game. It is true that, sometimes, the savegame can be damaged, but other times those problems are caused simply because adding a new mod to your game consumes a portion of memory. When reading your savegame or while you play with that new mod the game does not have enough memory and does CTD. If you delete, remove or disable that new mod, enough memory is released to load your savegame and play your game without problems. Result, some say that this mod is wrong and that it gives me problems, literally: "my game worked perfectly until I put or update that mod so the problem has to be in that mod or in the update" And the solution that many people offer is to eliminate all savegames by saying that the problem is in the savegame and must start a new game for solve the problems. When the REAL problem is simply that by bringing the two things together, the game runs out of memory. Sometimes these problems are temporarily fixed by loading an old savegame and doing different things because as memory is handled dynamically, depending on what you do and how you progress in the diferent quest, the game may have more or less available memory and that make find the problems more hard. Finally, near 90% of the problems of Skyrim LE are caused by the memory management.
Rokabur Posted September 19, 2019 Author Posted September 19, 2019 I pretty much eliminated all the quest mods except Falskaar, Wyrmstooth and Legacy of the Dragoborn now includes Moonpath to Elseweyr. Downside is Legacy of the Dragonborn doesn't have a compatibility patch to play nice with Relics of Hyrule. Only some of the mods I use have actually been updated since I last played. There are still some mods I want to add but am too lazy to do so.
Rokabur Posted September 25, 2019 Author Posted September 25, 2019 Need advice on how to use TES5Edit. There seems to be a possible corrupt .NIF file in https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/27361, but ONLY in the master bedroom (if I have the optional cell .esp turned on, no SKyrim crash unless I try to enter the cell. I started Skyri with JUST the main esp, when entering the actual underground part, I got an error window about a possibly corrupted .NIF file.

If you have CTD when activating ONLY Skyrim.esm and UndergroundBathhouse.esm in MO2 my only explanation is a bad mesh inside the game folder, in DATA\mesh, and that means you must have garbage in the game folder. If you are using MO2, your DATA folder should not have folders called mesh, textures, scripts... If you have it, your old manager may have left trash or, maybe, it comes from old manual operations. Check your DATA folder in the game directory, clean it and try again.
Rokabur Posted September 25, 2019 Author Posted September 25, 2019 I just don't understand this mod. Started the game up this morning, first time I entered the room perfectly fine, second time Skyrim closed with no error window, third time I entered with no problem. The only folders in my Skyrim Data folder is Interface, Strings and Video and the only files are for Skyrim and the DLC, nothing else. If it would give me the error, I'd try to get a screenshot of it, which I forgot I could do last night. I tried verifying the Skyrim files through Steam, first launch SKyrim closed on loading my main save, second time it closed fast traveling to the mods location and third time it closed entering the underground part without the optional cell file.

Are you making test in a NEW GAME? All that problems can come from a problematic or corrupted savegame. First start a NEW GAME and verify that your game and the mods works goods. That discard problems in the instalation, load order, configuration... If you have problems in a NEW GAME something is not correctly instaled or configured. If you only have problems when you load your normal savegame can mean you have problems inside the savegame. Try loading a savegame from a week ago, or two if need, for verify if the problem is only inside recent savegames. How many mods have you active in your current profile? Some of them are BIG? Are you ussing OsAlocators from Crash Fixes?
Rokabur Posted September 26, 2019 Author Posted September 26, 2019 The single only save I have is from outside Helgen cave with no mods running. Can't use Alternate Start anymore cause pretty much everything is missing when my char loads into the prison cell except for a few ghosts off in the distance. Downloaded a few saves off Nexus and Skyrim still crashes entering the underground part. Not sure how many mods in my profile is relevant when the mod is crashing with JUST Skyrim.esm, Update.esm and the mod, though when my mods are active it comes to 193. Yes I have a few large mods installed but Skyrim pretty much works just fine unless I enter THAT particular area. Did a clean install of the mod as well. And i have no idea what OsAlocators from Crash Fixes is.
Parky Posted September 26, 2019 Posted September 26, 2019 Have you completed the Helgan portion of the intial quest? I have had CTD''s when i tried to do something else after entering Riverrun using alternate start. The game really wants you to complete that part early on.
Rokabur Posted September 26, 2019 Author Posted September 26, 2019 And now Skyrim is back to working like shit again. Decided I'd start a new game and run through all of Helgen again. I started up Skyrim through the launcher, start a new game and everything starts freaking out with the carts thrashing around. I quit quit Skyrim and restarted it, now every time when I start a new game Skyrim closes again.

Alternative startup works perfectly. You should not use other people's saved games. Stop doing weird things and concentrate on making your game work well. Starting with Alternate Start, I don't understand what mean "everything is missing when my char loads into the prison cell except for a few ghosts off in the distance" and a screenshot can help us a lot. Millions of people use Alternate Start every day without any problem. I always have it installed and I have never had any problems. Simply put Alternate Start in the last positions of the Load Order or let LOOT order your mods in the best possible way. Always create your own savegames and don't use other people's savegames. Each savegame is different and the game stores a lot of information in the savegame, including the version of the game and the mods. I have seen savegames made with old versions that give problems. Do not use them. Simply activate all your mods and make your game work well with Alternate Start. 7 hours ago, Rokabur said: Not sure how many mods in my profile is relevant when the mod is crashing with JUST Skyrim.esm, Update.esm and the mod Yes, if you have problems activting ONLY Skyrim.esm, Update.esm and the mod that mean you must have some bad configured or the mod, really, have a problem. But i dowload that mod, install it with diferent options for activate and deactivate the aditional esp's an test all the rooms in all the configurations. I not have any problem, then, the problem must be in your side. Maybe you have manually changed your INI files and maybe that is causing all the problems. Locate you Skyrim.ini and SkyrimPrefs.ini and delete or rename it. In MO the INI files are inside the profile. Test again the mod a look if the problem is solved. If your game look bad or you continue having problems, download and run BethIni for optimice yours INI files. 7 hours ago, Rokabur said: though when my mods are active it comes to 193. Simply concentrate in solve yours individual problems.

That problems with "the carts thrashing around" are caused by the special physics and skeletons addeded by the mods and a lot of people have that problem. For that we recomend use Alternate Start, because normally you can not play the long and bored intro made by Beth whit the new physics and skeletons. If you have CTD before the main menu you are missing a MASTER at 99%. Look your load order. If you have CTD when you click NEW GAME probably you have excesive animations. Remove animations.
Rokabur Posted September 26, 2019 Author Posted September 26, 2019 The screenshots I finally remembered to take show exactly what happens when I use Alternate Start (absolutely no settings or anything changed since the first time I tried it yet like I stated, pretty much everything is missing).

Rokabur Posted September 26, 2019 Author Posted September 26, 2019 Kk, was going to delete post cause I forgot about deleting the Skyrim INIs. Deleted those in my MO2 profile, Alternate Start sarted just fine but as soon as I selected the name for my char Skyrim closed on me.
GenioMaestro Posted September 26, 2019 Posted September 26, 2019 2 hours ago, Rokabur said: as soon as I selected the name for my char Skyrim closed on me. That can be a problem in skeleton, body model, HDT... After press "enter" in the name the first thing that make the game is compute the HDT and for that need a good skeleton and body. As you ar ussing MO2 put XPMSE in the last position in the left pane for be sure none other mods overwite it. Try again and look if works. If problem persist run FNIS and look the first lines of the log and verify are ussing HDT skeleton of 115 bones. If say other thing reinstall XPMSE and select HDT skeleton. Try again and look if works. If problem persist start BodySlide, select the tick for generate morphs and make a batch build of all yours armors.
Rokabur Posted September 26, 2019 Author Posted September 26, 2019 Hmm... Moved XPMSE to bottom of the left panel, re-ran FNIS, ran Bodyslide and did the generate morphs. Ran Skyrim, started a new game and once I selected my name the game threw up the error window again about a possible corrupt .NIF file. There are STILL no meshes or texture folders in my Skyrim Data folder but the 8 .NIFs listed all went to my Skyrim Data folder on my E drive. Second time, there was no error window, selected my new life through the Mara statue and when I clicked on the bed SKyrim closed.

Rokabur Posted September 27, 2019 Author Posted September 27, 2019 Used BethINI, chose the ini in setup for my profile, used the High preset and Recommended Tweaks and BethINI already had ENB Mode selected and saved and exited the program. Went with a new game again, chose my new life and Skyrim closed when I selected to sleep in the bed. Also, when it gave me the errors windows about a possible corrupt .NIF, I'm 98% sure the 8 files listed were the EXACT same files when Skyrim crashed twice in the private room in the mod yesterday.

That can be an ENB problem. Have you tried disabling ENB? Have you configured enblocal.ini correctly? https://wiki.step-project.com/ENBoost How many diferent starts have you tried? Are you ussing always the same start on the same spot? Try selecting in the statue diferent start options, like one house, one inn, camping, stormcloak, imperial... At last resort, disable all yours mod and make a test with minimal mods: Skyrim, DLC's, USLEEP, Alternate Start.
Rokabur Posted September 27, 2019 Author Posted September 27, 2019 Configured the enblocal.ini according to the site linked. Tried a completely different start, took over 30 seconds before I finally loaded in. Game is completely fine and stable. Tried entering the private quarters and got the same error window from Crash Fixes. It still points to the exact same 8 .NIF files in my Skyrim Data folder despite all the mods in MO2 are in appdata/local/Mod Organizer. I even tried deleted the meshes and textures archives in my Skyrim Data folder and re-downloading them. I tried taking screenshot but the game wouldn't let me ALT+F4 unless I logged out of my desktop account which caused me to lose the 'screenshot I wanted to post. Gonna try and not mess around with any of my mods or add/remove some. Everything seems completely fine except for that ONE particular area which once in a while WILL let me in if I try entering enough times. Usually once it does let me enter I grab everything that isn't nailed down and never enter again.
