Closing the CK - A science on its own

I'm sure you've already noticed that the CK takes a long time to close, for no apparent reason at all. A program like that should just shut down everything instantly when you hit that red button with an x. So how to close it faster? Spam-click the button like mad until it crashes. Seems better than having to wait 1 minute for it to close. I'm just wondering why it takes so much time, and if there is a drawback to closing it this way.

Why do you assume that everyone else has the same problem? Did you try searching?

The program, any program, has to close and save whatever it needs to before it closes down. The time it takes to close will depend on what it needs to close and your hardware among other things.

I rarely ever close the CK. Most of the time it crashes and then I no longer feel like working on mods for that day.

But otherwise it closes fairly quickly ~10s max. Otherwise you can just always kill it in the task mangerĀ :tounge_wink:

10s isn't quickly, but I would guess it takes around 15s for me, which is why I get impatient with it and try to force close it.

Well it's also not a small program just because it's a tool it easily grabs like 3-4 GB of memory. Some games take similarly long to close for me.
