Alternate start not working

So I set up a new playthrough and when I start up a new game, I get a blank load screen, only mist, no statue flying around, no music, and the task manager says it's not reacting.
I've narrowed it down to alternate start, don't know how to fix it. I can bypass it by coc'ing to riverwood from the main menu but that doesn't really solve the problem here...

While you may be right this can also be caused by several other things. Would it be possible for you to post a load order and a copy of your FNIS report (what FNIS generates when you run it - this usually begins with a description of your skeleton and ends with the number of animations that you successfully loaded; just copy and paste).

I tried running without AS, it runs quite well, though it freezes after a while.

Is there a way to copy paste a load order list from MO?

I know you got your mod list from MO but it is clearly not your load order since your .esm's are at the end of it. Can you get a load order (rather than a mod list) from MO or run LOOT and get it's load order. I don't know but I expect that all you may need to do is 1) tick Xpmse "off" and 2) move XPMSE and ASLAL to the end of your load order.

that does set up the issue that patchus maximus has to be repatched.
Does XPMSE work if the esp is disabled?

I'm not familiar with patchus maximus but I can look it up and see.

 

Yes, there are two parts to XPMSE: the skeleton and the .esp. If you tick off the .esp you still have the skeleton as long as you don't disable the mod also.

So I tried your suggestions and as I expected I got a CTD at main menu, so there's dependencies unfulfilled by disabling xpmse.esp

EDIT; I tried it with and it no longer works either. Tried to sort the plugins all over again, it doesn't really rearrange anything, and loot now give trouble as well.
