Sexout STD check! FINAL VERSION!

longhornjedi wished that there was a plugin to check if the NPCs have STDs.

 

Since it advisable to practice safe sex I immediately cooked up a very simple and small mod that lets you check NPCs for STDs.

 

You can even cure them! Allthough you then run the risk of catching an STD yourself...

 

The bar is rather high for curing STDs (medicine skill) But for checking it is a bit lower... but it depends on the STD...

(And no I haven't tested it... This was just a 10 min project since I saw a simple, yet elegant request in the wish list thread)

 

EDIT: Since I am obviously a moron or somethign similar I forgot the most important part:

 

1. This requires smalltalk or a similar mod that lets you talk to any NPC if you wish to test people you normally can't talk to.

 

2. All testing of STD goes through dialogue! If you don't see it at first, try to exit conversation, then start conversation once more.

Works quite well... But when you get around to doing anything else to it, you might want to make it so the response to any check is split between successfully checking and failing, rather than having both possibilities show up in the same text.

 

Actually, I'll take this opportunity to look at the mod and see how it all works... See if I can split the responses myself.

Works quite well... But when you get around to doing anything else to it' date=' you might want to make it so the response to any check is split between successfully checking and failing, rather than having both possibilities show up in the same text.

This should be one of the easiest to look around in. It's all in the Quest SexoutSTDs.

It's ment to be both possibilities. You shouldn't be 100% certain that the NPC doesn't have any STDs unless you have really high medicine skill.

 

I like the uncertanitu principle of it... You might get unlucky ;)

For those of you who has to be 100% certain here is the medical skills needed to know:

 

 

Herpes : 30

Syphilis and Gonorreah : 40

Aids : 50

 

Cure

Herpes : 60

Syphilis and Gonorreah : 70

Aids : 80

Hmm... I *think* this conflicts with SexoutDiscounts... at least, if I have both running then I either can't check for STDs nor can I try to get a discount... OR, I can only check for STDs with any merchant response being either they have some STD or a blunt "no". (as though I've been turned down for a discount attempt.) Or, as I just found out, they will offer a discount.

 

Load order affects it... STD first = no check/discount available. STD second = find STD of do Discount attempt.

 

 

 

And, while I'm here... I monkeyed about with the mod a little, and changed some of the dialogue. Hope you guys like it.

:edit2: And another change... and yes, I do know that the cure messages don't always match the disease... that seems to be due to it only finding one at a time, even when the NPC has more than one. It just seems to cure them in a random order. :(

Even with 100 Medicine, it's returning the same message. I *think* I know how to fix that so that you get an all-clear message with 90+ medicine skill... but I just know I'm gonna fuck things up badly while doing it.

 

 

Which is all part of the fun. :D

Although once I install UDLR’s Sexout update that one should be moot.

 

Still other than that nickpick, great mod. :)

Ok, it's a little untidy (hey, first time modding, ok? :P) but it's set up that you can only be certain IF you have Medicine at or above 95. Anything else and you're not sure.

 

 

And it still cures STDs in a random order if the NPC has more than one. :(

 

 

:edit: If anyone can tidy it up, I'd be eternally grateful.

The OP file should now no longer have any conflicts with either SexoutDiscounts, the new animations, or some honest heart dialogue it also conflicted with...

The Vendortron at Gun Runners was suffer from a STD too. I guess there is a way in that sealed room. :P

For the first time in a long while, I did the Hoover Dam battle as an independent... and I've got to the point where YesMan is telling me he's gonna make himself more assertive. (yep, the very end just before the slideshow...) The only problem is, I've got a chat option to check him for STDs... and nothing else.

 

 

Can't do a damned thing, except check him... so at least I know he's clean. :@

I am sorry, but this actually had me laughing quite hard ( And since I seem to still be a bit sick I ended up almost coughing my lungs out...) Just the thought of you at the final part of the game, unable to launch that last little line of dialogue, and thinking "well at least he has no STDs"...

 

Have you tried loading last save without this plugin? I have set the priority of the dialogue quite low so it really shouldn't do that, but then it's a buggy game and any edit that goes over all characters in game (like this one does) will have the possibility of breaking the game. I will see if I can find a way to fix this.

There is a way to fix it... disable/enable YesMan using the console. (it worked, what more need be said? :P)

awesome! Post-apocalyptic gynecologist simulator. Spent almost a hour at Gamorra trying to "save humanity" until I realised that the npcs just kept getting more and more STDs :( And why if the npc has AIDS for example and I fail to cure them I get herpes and not AIDS instead (who knows what methods to cure AIDS are used in Fallout universe, maybe its blood transfusion xD).

Currently STD's aren't implemented in anything but the old SexoutNV, noone has written a plugin for SexoutNG yet.

I recommend upgrading to SexoutNG. Otherwise in the SexoutNV Book Menu there was an option to turn off STD's.

im just curious as to why nobody i check has STDs, even the scummiest fiend. i really didnt pay much attention till i dl'd this mod and started checkin folks. is there a mod that adds STDs to the game?
