I got a question. As a test I replaced several base outfits with Vtaws clothes (raider armor and settler outfits) as they are way more fun to look at then the base stuff.

It works buuuut .... I noticed in taskmanager the used memory went from an average 5.000 to 12.000 - 20.000 and as a result CTD sooner or later. Well most of the time sooner.

As results I had to remove most of those clothes again as the memory use went way to fast depending what I do, going to cities or big settlements is almost certain a CTD the next 5-10 mins.  Anyone else tried this? Is there a way the game doesnt crash so fast. I have 32Gb installed memory.

I have 16GB ram and never have any crashes. Probably something wrong with your PC

Lucky you I have/had crashes for ages even before starting modding.

I am 100% certain the outfits are the problem (not only vtaw but also clothes from other creators). Just looking at the nifs of some outfits (not even talking the textures) some are 2MB (like secretary oufit) compared to normal outfits that are around 100kB.  As long I use these vtaw outfits on a selected number of npc I have no probs. But when using them on raiders/guards/residents that only works for short time and if no crashes I see the textures in general becoming worse. I have a heavy modded game so maybe replacing many clothes is just to much.

The memory use should go lower when I move into the wild but it doesnt it just keeps going higher but thats nothing new.

Prob PC I doubt as I play all the new games at max settings.

Vtaw and some other high quality clothes mods are often at much higher quality than vanilla clothes. Usually at 2K to 4K texture while vanilla is only 1K. It will be fine if you only use them on your main character and maybe a couple of follower. If you try to distributes them to many more NPC like all the setter and raiders it will increase ram and vram usage significantly. The texture become worse is a symptom you are running out of vram. Best things you can do is only using them on limited amount of NPCs. Maybe try to downgrade the texture to 1K.

Aye, I was hoping 1 would know how not to CTD when Memory used is at +10 Gb. Downgrading textures I have never tried and probably it wont look very good then I suppose. I could maybe test with ENB but that kills my fps even with a 4080 and I like the reshade I use atm.

Can anyone help identify which mod these gloves belong to please? Thanks a bunch.

Edit: Found them. For those looking for these gloves, you can find them in Vtaw Wardrobe 9 under Moxxi's outfit.
