xyzxyz Posted June 24, 2019 Posted June 24, 2019 Hello, I have been using sexlab mods for years and never got a stable game. Sooner or later it crashed or became froozen. Can you help me finding the source of the problems? The crashs start from level 1 and become more frequently the higher the level gets and when I do more quests or generell progress . TES5EDIT didn't find any major conflicts. I use the few tricks to make skyrim more stable, like changing the loading time, but it doesn't help much. I added the last papyrus log so you can get an image how my game looks like. This is my mod list. Musje Posted June 25, 2019 Posted June 25, 2019 At a glance I see nothing worrying in the mod list. Be sure to run LOOT after installing new mods and also check the errors and warnings in that tool. Papyrus log shows an error for Sexlab naked Creatures that should not be there: make sure you have the latest versions of that mod and all the dependencies, and that they are actually compatible with each other, Aygas also shows an error on player zoning events that should not be there, I will take a closer look at that as it may be a bug. As suggested in the Aygas thread, try running ENB in crash fix mode. This adds a lot of stability on older hardware. Also read up on increasing the Papyrus budget. This helps with script heavy mods of which you have a few. Running Oldrim with a lot of mods is a bit like keeping an old sports car in working order. It's worth it but you will have to get your hands dirty

Zaflis Posted June 25, 2019 Posted June 25, 2019 I would strongly recommend reducing number of ESP's down to roughly 100 or few more. Don't aim for megasaves you keep building on and on, the main key to stability is periodically starting again from scratch. So only test a few mods at the time, not a massive batch of them. I have 109 esp's in my Skyrim, sometimes more or less. The more npc's you have the more unstable it is, so i had to make the hard decision to get rid of all "wenches" mods, and it helped. And are you really sure you need hdtHighHeel.esm, is it a requirement for some mod? Is there a possibility it's not an important mod for you so both can be disabled?

Can you tell me which mods are script heavy?

Well, I have 185 active mods at the time says Loot. Mostly item mods, some additional creatures (mihail for example) and not so many story mods. Item mods (armor/weapons/magic) shouldn't cause problems ?
Grey Cloud Posted June 25, 2019 Posted June 25, 2019 With the exception of Psalam's post all the rest is nonsense. Get your base game stable - follow, e.g. the S.T.E.P. guide. Decide what you want from your game - requires thought. Choose a mod manager and get to know its pros and cons - requires thought. Read the descriptions of the mods which may provide you with something you want - requires reading and thought. Add the mods as many as you want at at time but keep in mind if something goes tits then it is more difficult to track down the problem - requires searching, reading and thought. Keep your animation count to around 10K with FNIS regular and around 12K with XXL - you can always add more later if your game can handle it. Don't install an ENB until you are happy that you have a stable modded game. Broad brush guide to trouble-shooting: CTD on start up - either too many animations or missing masters. Crash Fixes will pop up a warning about a missing master and abort the load. NMM and LOOT would have given word too. If you suspect too many animations check the mod you just installed. Lots of mods add animations even though they are not 'animation' mods per se. CTD in game - if in the same location: bad mesh or too much going on for your game to handle, e.g. textures on lots of NPCs. If in different locations: something eating your VRAM or look for a common denominator, e.g. the recent problems with v12 of MNC causing CTDs when near animals. If your save gets screwed and none of the tools will fix it - so what? Forget it and move on, either roleback to an earlier save or start a new game. It's just a computer game - worse things happen at sea. Never reinstall Skyrim - find and fix the problem. There aren't that many and they aren't that difficult to fettle. It is not that difficult to get a stable game - lots of reading is the key thing. The technicals aren't that technical.

If the game is stable when you get here then you should be fine - unless you do something stupid such as download every mod featuring a pair of tits or a schlong without reading anything. We are teetering on the brink of another discussion about this nebulous term 'script-heavy'.

While there are some people who would disagree with me it is unwise in the extreme to change your load order in any way, including running LOOT, midgame. If you have an issue or desire to change your load order you must start a new game. VirginMarie (author of "Shout Like a Virgin") calls this her "golden rule", and my experience confirms that. There are exceptions possible to this rule, but it sounds like, you are at the point where you are better served just following the basic rules rather than looking at exceptions. So, if the papyrus log that you've just uploaded comes from a game where you've changed your load order midgame, then I am unlikely to be able to help you. If you make a habit of changing things around as you go along, you are likely to continue to have CTDs.

It never worked by the way, so I will remove it. Thank you for your help with PAHE and the old nexus stuff. I often hesitate to change older mods.

I often hesitate to change older mods. due to the nature of your problem, we won't know for certain if those 3 problems are all that you had but we need to clear that up and get and updated log to see deeper...and on a fresh save recommended. cross your fingers we got a good chunk of the problems there and you're welcome

Can't remember anything about it. It hasn't got a NEXUS mod number but inside it has a folder called Estrus for Skyrim v222 and inside that is a folder with the name of the auothor of Estrus for Skyrim.

It changes the dwemer animations to look more metallic but I have no Idea to what mod it belongs.
