but there was no such file in zaz directory. some textures appeaed when i added a nif file with the exact same name but still crashed when i activated the item.

Well, there's SSEEdit which is more or less the same functionality as zEdit. Other than that, your next stop is the Creation Kit itself,

Sure. I'm just saying that the file's absence probably wasn't the cause of the problem. In particular, it's more likely to be a corrupt nif (or possibly a badly converted LE nif causing the crash than a missing one.

 

Speaking of tools, NIF Optimizer  is good for checking an converting nifs. In fact, I might have hit this same issue with the Slaver's Spellbook, now that you mention it.

 

In fact why not grab the SSE version and try using the doggie belt nifs from that? They might show up glowing and blue, but if they don't crash anything, that'd be progress at least. Probably need a BSA Browser to get at the nifs themselves.

OK. So I opened the Zaz esm in zEdit.

You can see the path and filename have changed for the ground object since the version of ZAZ that I used, back in the mists of time.

 

But that's just the ground model. For the meshes that are used when the item us worn, we nee to look at the Armor Addon, or "Armature" in the record:

That gives us these three nifs:

I suspect the 1st person meshes are empty, so I'd look for the one under Female World Model/MOD3 - Model Filename. Because that's the one that gets displayed when you wear it, and that's where I'd expect the crash to occur

oh i get it now i remember when i replaced the meshes in zaz directory. picture of doggybelt when you hover on it on inventory (called ground mesh right?) appeared which didnt apppear at first without editing the zaz dierctory but still crashed when i wore it.

 i also used this texture you provided with that mesh and looks fine in bodyslide.

also i tried sseedit as you said but it didnt run after i edited the esm file, maybe i need to read manuals carefully. anyway did you try anything with editing that?

edit: ihate it! still crashes the game when i wear it without any clothing or armor but doesnt crash when im still wear some cloth

Ah, interesting! That sounds like a body mesh issue.

 

I'll take a shot at running the whole thing through CAO. Probably have to wait until tomorrow now, since it's getting late here, and I need to work tomorrow.

OK. Did that. Definite CTD on SSE.

 

I'll have another look at the Slavers Spellbook version. That doesn't crash SE, so it's doable. I just need to remember what I did.

i think error is from esp file cause tested mesh and that red texture patched togeather on another esp file and got no CTD.

it says hdt heels is a soft dependancy, but vortex says qayl requires hdtheels? qayl doesnt launch without hdtheels

 

(and for a different reason, hdt heels doesnt let my game launch, without hdtheels or qayl the game launches, with qayl and with or without hdtheels, or with hdtheels by istelf, the game wont launch)

 

i have downgraded skyrim with bestofboth patcher
