Looking for a few good wo/men: FNIS 7.5 Closed Beta (Animation Load CTD Calculation)

PLEASE don't ask to participate if

 - you are inexperienced, and/or

 - only curious, and/or

 - don't want to spend at least two, three hours of REAL testing (not just running as usual).

 

 

 

Background:
See Article Skyrim Animation Load CTD: Understand the background of this unpleasant restriction. And how FNIS can help you.

 

What it is:
Starting with the upcoming Version 7.5 XXL, FNIS will calculate the Skyrim behavior/animation load, predict it's (installation specific) CTD threshold, and issue a warning after generation if the calculated value is at least 99%. It will also show the CTD contribution of each mod, and pinpoint possible optimization areas.

 

What I expect:
Seasoned Skyrim SE users working with installations of at least 10k character animations. Previous experience with Load CTD situations is helpful. :)

 

What you can help: 
Fill up your system as much as possible while still loading. And where adding one more animations will cause load CTD. To achieve this I have created a set of standardized mods with defined number of simple animations which will help you to find this CTD limit with a few tests only.

 

What I'm interested in:
Where your CTD limit is. And what your mods are. Everything between 99.5% and 100.5% is ok. Everything else a matter of further investigation.

well that counts me out, (i'm still in SLE on a WinXP computer).

 

but since your working on FNIS don't forget to fix the case sensitive Frost Spider "ReturnToDefault" problem that PaulGreen found in BehavioredObjects.txt & frostbitespiderbehavior_TEMPLATE.txt.

 

 

 

EDIT: be warned i just found out about a new mod that may possibly effect your test results:

Hey folks, what's up? Afraid of a little work? :)

 

So many users complain about the uncertainty of not knowing when Animation Load CTD will strike, and so few (currently 3) are willing to do their share.

 

Right now I can predict Animation Load CTD within a range of +/- 5 animations. But I need more confidence from other installations...

I am interested. I've run setups before that seemed to load CTD with all of the SLAL packs I installed.

 

Also, how precisely does the CTD percentage chance work? Its it a threshold or actual percent? In the example, your optimizations took the percentage down from 99.4% to 84.2%. Does that mean there is still an 84.2% chance that you will load CTD?

That's what I was afraid of. I actually started with Oldrim. But when I saw how much time all that testing takes I switched because I didn't want to invest unnecessarily into Oldrim. Although it seems that everything is identical SE and LE.

 

And I wanted to avoid dealing with cases where user's memory crashes would interfere. Which is probably more likely on LE.

Yes, the percentage is % to threshold. So the 99.4% example still did load 100%.

But SE is the future. I started my testing with LE for the same reason, but when I realized the amount of work involved I didn't want to risk that effort for an inferior system. 

 

But as soon as the SE version is stable, I will also release it for LE.

it's been 3 years, your already in "the future", and LE is still the preferred version by the majority.

therefor the masses have deemed SE to be the "inferior system".

 

and having seen the shit that Pfiffy & Tasairis have been dealing with only strengthens my own resolve to stay with LE.

My SSE game atm has over 10000 animations registered with FNIS Behavior V7.4.5 XXL:

11137 animations for 49 mods successfully included (character).
 4854 animations for 16 mods and 45 creatures successfully included..

The animation mods fnis processed:

I've yet to see a crash on startup or when multiple sex scenes are playing.

My install is all done manually (no mod manager ever) and I only have a total of 54 mods in my plugins.txt (No CCC mods installed at all).

At what point should this limit/threshhold be noticeable?
