Crints Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 I don't remember doing anything with New Vegas for a good few weeks now, and it just started an 8-hour update. Did anyone else get this, or did I do something stupid I don't recall?
paladuin Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 your not the only one, cant cancel it and now for all purposes i think my mods are totally screwed up, even though my new vegas is set to not download
Ark of Truth Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 New Vegas should be at it's latest version on Steam.
Halstrom Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 Yeah, I just noticed some sort of minor update too, it seemed to be a quick one though.
srayesmanll Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 Steam just started a download for FONV on mine as well, and it says it's downloading 9.2 gb. Good thing I've got 13 GB left on my hard drive ...
Kashiwaba Tomoe Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 You have a virus, it is called steam.
Vedli Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 Yeah me too. Then Steam went "oh wait never mind" I think the sale is getting to it poor thing.
Halstrom Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 You have a virus' date=' it is called steam.[/quote']You keep repeating yourself, you really should consider coming up with some new material one day.................
Ark of Truth Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 You have a virus' date=' it is called steam.[/quote']You keep repeating yourself, you really should consider coming up with some new material one day................. or something relevent and useful to the topic.....
Kashiwaba Tomoe Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 My guess is Obsidian fixed something, and patched it. That or an anti-piracy update, although those are always pointless.
deathparade Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 No new version by looking at the .exe And no changes too all times are at 16 juli...
Strelky Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 My version is unmodded and such updates never ocurred possibly something with the mods?
Ark of Truth Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 Nope, most likely just a glitch. I never got the update.
KainsChylde Posted December 29, 2012 Posted December 29, 2012 I've seen no update, and when I tried to force one it said I had the most current version.
paladuin Posted December 29, 2012 Posted December 29, 2012 well mine did try to update got to like 3.2 mb then it got suspended
KainsChylde Posted December 29, 2012 Posted December 29, 2012 Have you been running something like RFCW or TTW and had updates turned off for a while? Could just be a delayed old update.
gregathit Posted December 29, 2012 Posted December 29, 2012 I had mine update. It started and "said" it was redownloading the entire game but after about 20 seconds it "suddenly" was complete. I think it was just a quick scan that steam ran. Why, I don't have the slightest clue.
KainsChylde Posted December 29, 2012 Posted December 29, 2012 Only the dumbest of pirates would be using steam to run their ill-gotten gains.
Kashiwaba Tomoe Posted December 29, 2012 Posted December 29, 2012 Only the dumbest of pirates would be using steam to run their ill-gotten gains. True, that said steam IS usually the source of most pre-release cracks, I mean I saw a cracked Skyrim (steam version) about a month before the game came out....... and it worked fine too.
Blargh! Posted December 29, 2012 Posted December 29, 2012 Only the dumbest of pirates would be using steam to run their ill-gotten gains. Most pirated games are from Steam, a friend of mine has Skyrim from a less-than-legal source (He bought it for Xbox, though) and his even has a Steam overlay.
Tefnacht Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 Steam just decided my F:NV needed an update too. First it did its “conversion to a more efficient format” spiel, then it downloaded about 190 Mb and finished the experience by fucking up my INI files. According to a “last date changed” search, it downloaded a new Fallout_Default.INI and the Sounds.BSA files for the four big DLCs. Comparing the MD5 of those files with the backups I keep shows no actual change. So ... it was a completely pointless exercise that accomplished nothing except waste my time
