[POOL] Event pictures for historical games

This is a post to initiate an event to provide more pictures for our beloved paradox mods.

 

Reason:

1) I found the event pictures in the original ck2 games to be few and limited in details (but maybe there are also some merits for it, e.g. making it a game fit for children... I guess?)

2) There are numbers of events like capturing, affair and love, but pictures were reused, and this further limits the variety of event and their feeling

3) There are great mods that enrich the game experience, though this leads to demand for a lot of corresponding cg for events

4) Sometimes animes/comics/cartoons and images from other games are imported, but the varieties in style and atmosphere sometimes breaks the immersion (they are great and introduce many other games and arts to me, but a leap from 1080 sieges to modern anime and 3d character sometimes breaks my roleplay as a teenage hedonist count in HRE).

1. Use this post to find 2 sets of filter-shader-detail combination 

 

List of pictures in terms of details - filter

---- PLEASE VOTE ON THE FOLLOWING 2 QUESTION!!! ----

 

a) HISTORICAL VOTE:

the ones that is most immersive for the themes in ck2 or even mount and blade games (this can mean blurry ones like the original ones, or using the shader and effects to polish away game specific elements so it looks like a history game)

 

b) ART - GAME VOTE:

the ones you would like to have in games and events, that have good feel (no matter medieval, renaissance, impression or psuedo-medieval ones like ones in rpg and jrpg) when blending into mods in ck2 (adult or combat ones)

2. If this might work, I wonder if we can organize a system that can effectively mass produce event pictures:

a system to post request for a events (e.g. capturing enemy / torturing prisoner/ battlefield events) -->

good gamer who know which game, mod and location ingame where they can make those poses -->
volunteer from various game to provide in-game pictures (e.g. use enb and tfc 1 in skyrim for good screenshots) -->
post-processing and shading-->

QA to make sure the styles are great -->

modders to implement the pictures to make mods that are in some way better than the original game

 

And if we actually make the above work, this system has the potential to mass produce cgs. I made the pictures in 30min, including installing the mod, if we are experienced enough and have a good set of shaders and parameters, we can make an entire story within hours.

p.s. I am a very very junior programmer in a small company, but in my experience, graphic team have very heavy workload just to make games work; we might not have full time artists for mod in this forum of enthusiasts, though we might manage to overcome this difficulty with a work mode and a proper system. Man i recently went about retooling IST to have more pictures... and it exhausting, there's little suitable out there. Spent days n days and still wasn't happy. That fotosketcher site looks useful, but too late for me, already had this camels back broke.

 

But yeah, is hard to make an ero mod that looks authentic to the setting, for sure.
