What is causing ths butt ugly purple glitch on my reflex sights?...

Recommended Posts

This is only happening on the HK UMP mod (https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/38653 ), the MP 7 mod (https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/37330), and the AK400 mod (https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/36873).. no other mods with reflex sights are doing this and I've tried everything I can think of in an effort to fix it, I even tried deleting parts of the mesh that I though were causing the issue (save for the lens mesh its self) but still the problem persists. The only conclusion I've been able to come to is that's it's some kind of rendering issue, but what would cause that I don't know.

Usually purple points to a missing texture file so I would open the nif file and click on the sight lens and see what the texture pathway is and what the texture file is and see if it's missing.

I wish it were that simple, but apparently it's not. The only thing I've found that works is deleting the glass mesh from all of the problem sights in NifSkope. Editing the material file to look like one of the material files that one of the other working sights uses doesn't work, and editing the sight glass mesh in a similar fashion (and running that along side the edited material file) also doesn't do anything.

Something must be wrong with the sight glass mesh in those sight meshes, but I don't know what it is or how to fix it. Apparently they don't render like the above picture in everyone's game, but in mine and a few other people's games (I've seen other examples of this) they do, and it looks ugly IMO.

I've only ever seen glass meshes behave that way in my game one other time and it was with a mod called YuVend INC. (https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/34066) but I don't know what the mod author did to fix the issue. I suspect that whatever is going on is something similar.
