CTD around solitude harbor

Before you say anything this happens WITHOUT mods installed as well! It just takes a bit longer until it crashes. I just checked with just alternate starts installed and still happens. In Falkreath the same thing happens sometimes but it's generally far more stable. Does anyone have an idea what it could be? It's not a mod conflict since it happens without mods as well. I have set lod detail to high. Could be an issue?

 

edit: did some more testing with the 2 1.2 default values in papyrus set to 1.6 I can walk around the harbor a little bit and on katlas farm but as soon as i dare looking at the solitude gate, it ctd's. Anyway, here's my load order but I doubt it will be of any use since the issue still happens without mods enabled.

 

edit2: ok, I have papyrus log as well and while it does seem to call for a lot of things, still it's not nearly as much as mods like frostfall would do but even thatr one abruptly stops without giving a sign of something happening.

 

setting lod distance to medium or low didn't change it either. Also I HAVE a steam version. It is NOT pirated. Just saying. I just started the game with just the dlc's, usleep and alternate starts and still no dice. I never had this issue on my windows 8.1 laptop before. I'm now using windows 10 but i don't see why that should affect anything.

 

edit2: Ok, It HAS something to do with my mod priorities but not the load order. As soon as I disabled everything on the left pan except of the dlc's and usleep and slal everything worked as ot should and there was no crash when going upstairs.

A crash in a specific location is usually a corrupted mesh. You may need to reload ASLAL from your description of the problem.

I've done some more testing and i disabled (both load order and priorities) every adult and animation related mod including fnis and I can run around without issues. I'm currently testing the basic fnis modules with slal creature framwework, all animation mods installed sexlab, aroused zaz and hereticals. If it works with these ones then it must have been a mod that depends on one of these.

 

is it possible that the current version of fnis is somehow not compatible with something? The weird thing is that the papyrus log doesn't give anything about the ctd. It seems like it's still doing it's own thing with a hitch. So it must be something external to it.

 

edit: yup, again a crash! as soon as i turn on fnis. the whole thing seems to collapse.

edit2: Ok, it's not fnis. I'm starting to think it's more nasty critters related. Currently checking with all other animation mods except nasty critters. (THANK GOD I'm using mod organizer lol. This would've been a nightmare without O_O' )

 

edit3: Yup it's MNC for some reason. Does it somehow conflict with the all-in-one cbbe hdt mod that also comes with it's own meshes with hdt indluded in it?

edit4: Currently removed anything in the all in one mod relating to mnc. Now let's see if it still happens. If it still does I'm thinking of just taking out the meshes and textures folder of mnc and ditching the rest. It's just not worth the trouble and i've got other animations that looks better anyways.

 

edit5: ugh, removing the files i want from mnc proved to be a bad choice. I removed everything from the all in one mod instead but it still ctd's around solitude. According to people on the forum over there it is apparently because of crash fixes 12 that i also use. No biggie I can always go back to a previous version because i still have those files lying aroung somewhere.

 

edit6: Well, this is interesting. Apparently i was already running cith crash fixes 12 and the same creature framework as well. I did just install mnc 11A though. Maybe that'll solve things?

 

edit7: Ok, FINALLY!!! Shit works again! SO if anyone else has issues around solitude and it's not a mesh issue AND you are using animal animations for with mnc. DO NOT go for the most recent one. (unless it does work for you). I guess i'm just not lucky? I dunno why it decided not to work for me. Maybe it was a mesh issue too though Psalam because it's possible something is wrong with the horse dick mesh causing me to crash around there. Who knows.

Have a look at the MNC thread. There is some sort of problem with horses, specific versions of Crash Fixes and version 12? of MNC. Possibly Animated Beast Cocks as well. I don't fully understand it myself as I'm using Crash Fixes 12 but I'm still on MNC 11b and I think I'm using ABC as well and I don't have any problems.

Yeah, on my previous laptgop i had MNC11A which i fished out of my old backups. That one seemed to have done the trick. I was already using Crash Fixes 12 and the latest creature framework. (is that one even still being updated though? It seems to be ages ago since last update but if it's feature complete. Who cares anyway)
