Syler1389 Posted May 9, 2019 Posted May 9, 2019 Hello. I have been working on trying to set up for over a week now. I dont get more than a day into playing before corrupt files and crashes. Also some mods wont load up so i can find the mcm either. I could use a hand with some advise on a dfew topics... 1. I found a recommended SSE build for a physics body online and though it looks fine, high heels wont work making character look off balance and no physics...I even got the recommended presets package the site told me and nothing moves. lol. 2. I cannot get the DD mods to load in. DDa 3.0 did(no mcm) but DDx(using 4.2.7) wont register when i load it in and DDi 4.1.7 will not even download offline properly...nevermind load into NMM. Besides that Ive just been playing musical mods with what i wanted to try because like i said, Im new to this stuff and not sure whats compatible and ive had to rebuild 9 times now. haha. Willing to start from scratch if someone can help me do it correctly so i can actually play the game. It would be most appreciated! IM an old guy and this tech stuff kinda boggles my brain. Btw, I really load the game up...70-80 mods...maybe that could be cut down with the proper advise on what might conflict with what. 3. Also...does SL Release have an mcm? Nothing seems to pop up so no settings to adjust.

The fact that you posted this in "Community -> General Discussion" instead of "Skyrim Technical Help" is a big red flag that you either don't read instructions or just don't follow them well. A few notes so I'm leaving you with something more helpful than an insult: 1) NMM is not a great tool. It is simple, yes, but that bites you in the ass after a while. 2) Skyrim modding is not easy and does require some technical finesse. If you lack the technical skills (or desire to learn them) then you are going to have a frustrating and bad time. Period. 3) Start small, make sure everything works, then add a few things, rinse, repeat. DD mods are among the most problematic (not a slam on the authors - its a technical miracle that it works at all). 4) Start with something like the STEP guide and then look up MadMans Gun's Sexlab installation tutorial (it is bestiality-focused, but still among the most comprehensive intros on what to do).

As for the insults, I am 61 and use a 46 inch monitor just to read the print so apologies if i posted in the wrong section. I got many mods to work, and i figured a lot of things out on my own. I was just looking more for proper/compatible se version recommendation and friendly advise on mod choosing as opposed to tech help but it is still very much appeciated.

You are asking for help for Skyrim modifications, but not many come here in this section, therefore you will not get much help her. I have already informed a moderator, he will move that thread to the correct section. do not worry, it's not a problem.

I find all this fun but its all new to me. lol many sites ive looked at are very good at explaining what you are doing wrong and pointing out the mistakes but very few are helpful in actually finding a solve as everyone says something diff on everything. So just mostly expecting to figure much on my own with maybe some helpful recommendations of mods to try from some friends?

You mentiioned Skyrim Special Edition in the OP, so the first thing is to make sure that the mods you are using are the correct versions for SSE or at least are known to work with it. Conversely, if you are using Legendary Edition then make sure you have not got any SSE versions in there. SSE also has its own tech support section. Welcome to Skyrim modding.

I have most of the mods down pat now, it is just a few that have me stumped as to why i cant get them to work or why i cannot find the right version to work. Like my example i gave with the DD mods. I have assets in functioning but DDx and DDi will not load up for some reason. That takes a lot of SL mod options off the table for me.

I can not help you, I play Skyrim for many years no longer. only that much, I had 254 ESP \ ESM files (Active) in my game and I had no CTDs. a good piece of advice, if you experiment with mods, then make from your DATA folder (without mods) a backup copy. if you mess up your game, then you just need to delete the DATA folder not that whole game.

Syler1389 Posted May 10, 2019 Author Posted May 10, 2019 Hmm. I seem to have mods that ask for enhanced character edit and Racemenu both. THey seem to work together ingame ok but i get a warning about having both in Loot about it. Is this a big issue anyone know?

Im rebuilding from scratch so offhand cant remember the exact mods but 1 wanted racemenu and the other wanted enhanced sharacter edit and loot dosent seem to like it. haha. Ill find wich ones today as i start reinstalling them.
