Short Reoccurring LE

Recommended Posts

I've been getting last exception errors for a little while, and for the most part, I've gotten rid of most of the issues. However, I do still keep getting an LE that pops up a lot. As of right now, all it says is:

<?xml version="1.0" ?><root>
</root>

so hopefully this is a quick fix!

Just delete and ignore....just a hiccup I think.....unless anyone knows different.

Did you turn off the Impressions system in the WW Relationship options settings, perhaps?

I ran into this same problem a few weeks ago and could not figure it out for the life of me.  It bothered the hell out of me so had to find out what the problem was. I started from scratch and spent hours carefully installing each mod I had, then testing it in-game, exit the game, reinstall another mod, repeat.

I still saved the folder while I was trouble shooting this: https://i.imgur.com/Dp3pQRj.png -- The exception file you see says the same thing as yours does. Blank.

Turns out, it was an archive file for clothing (more than one actually) that I had accidentally merged with other clothing files, including the actual unzipped package file for that specific piece of clothing. The game ran great for a long time with no errors and eventually one of the auto generated NPC's  just happen to pick that very same item during the auto clothing selection and I suddenly started to get errors.

(Worth noting. Back in August I went on a download shopping spree for clothing and build items by some my personal favorite creators and I didn't just pick and choose which to get either.....I downloaded their entire catalogs that featured every they had ever uploaded. I ended up with ~18GB of files. Needless to say, my game took around 15 minutes to even get to the Main menu. This was unacceptable to me, so I merged each creators catalog into one file and somewhere along the line I ended up making a mistake which ultimately led to me getting the blank LE error.

So pretty much what happened was. The game loaded the merged file and MC recognized the file was okay and saw that it was completely functional but also knew that something else was wrong. It just couldn't pin point exactly WHAT the problem was. MC is GREAT to have, but it is by no means perfect.

TLDR: Point is, I don't know if this this is the same problem that you're having, but from my experience, whenever MC throws up any type of error on a CONSTANT basis like you are saying, there is almost always a problem.  One that is almost always related to mods. It can be duplicate mods, wrong folder structure, wrong file types placed in the Mod folder, etc.

I suggest trying this.

1) Search your Mod folder for duplicates.

2) Search your Mod folder for file types such as; archive, rar, winzip, etc.
3) Delete your localthumbcache.package file.

It is a distinct possibility that this happened because I did merge a lot of like-cc (ie [creator]ya-f-hair) so I will def go through that as well as the impression system others have mentioned, thanks!

That wasn't a solution, I'm sorry. It's what I did when the same thing happened to me, and I think that was what caused it.

I found different. The Professional Dancer aspiration mod is outdated and is known to throw out blank LEs. It's included with one of @LittleDoxy's Teenage Dream sims. I'm away from my desktop PC, so I can't say which one for the moment. I removed the mod and no more blank LEs for me. :D

Well done....I will remember that one.

It took hours of pulling all my mods and putting them back a couple at a time, delete localthumbcache, restart game, rinse, repeat. I thought it might be Pose Player, because Dancer slipped by the first time. Then a nice person on the MCCC discord pointed me to that spreadsheet. And there it was at the top of the page. :)
