MayzyDayz Posted April 19, 2019 Posted April 19, 2019 I have sensory processing issues, and unfortunately because of them I can't really use Heels Sound, but a couple of pieces of armor I love require it. I know a few basics with TES5Edit and CK, but I haven't attempted to remove a master from a mod before and I'm nervous about breaking something. How should I go about safely removing the master from a mod?
27X Posted April 19, 2019 Posted April 19, 2019 First buy life insurance then give me all your money. Then Open the ck and the esp as nested in the root data folder, aka where the esms are. Set the >ESP< as the active file after the CK opens. Not esm. Go to the window with the heels >ESM<, highlight it, hold down control and hit delete. Close the project window, save and close the CK. Have fun ignoring high heel fetish mods and people who insist on still using janky ass HDT HighHeels, or both.
MayzyDayz Posted April 19, 2019 Author Posted April 19, 2019 Thanks! I can now use my favorite armor mods without giving myself a headache.

Have a look at this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fz1DTLs6FKA Generally speaking, dealing with XEdit is a lot less stressful than the clusterfuck that is the CK.
Dorabella Posted December 10, 2021 Posted December 10, 2021 How to remove High Heels (TES5Edit) The basic concept should be the same, what matters is to put ONLY the Master in Skyrim Data, proceed with the removal with TES5Edit, and remove the Master from Skyrim Data
Tlam99 Posted December 11, 2021 Posted December 11, 2021 There is another option. Create dummy esm high heels. Wrye bash does it, if you remove hh. So you don't need editing all mods and install new ones depending on HH.
27X Posted December 11, 2021 Posted December 11, 2021 for the amount of time it takes to copypasta an empty, you can just xedit and be permanently done ever fucking with it. It's not like HH is ever going to be relevant again.

Done in seconds It's the matter to have more than one tool. I use ck, xedit, wrye bash, zedit. Each tool has it's special advantages.
27X Posted December 11, 2021 Posted December 11, 2021 The actually salient issue is teaching to fish rather than covering the ocean in plastic, because HH isn't the only problem mod with dumb dependencies. This doubly true for Korean and chinese follower/"overhaul" mods that try to cram in as many bullshit dependencies as possible to keep users dependent on their paid discord/qq/ali bullshit. Once you know what and where to remove, you can tailor your skyrim to you, period.

Apparently you are not familiar with some tools, like wrye bash. What are you going to do with xedit, if you install a mod and do not have the master ? Xedit won't load it. Butcwryre bash loads it and asks, if it should add a dummy master. Know all options is always better. Period
27X Posted December 11, 2021 Posted December 11, 2021 I'm perfectly familiar with Wrye Bash and your solution is literally "go over the esp limit with nonworking masters".
