TheCyanWool Posted April 6, 2019 Posted April 6, 2019 I've got about three mods that edit the body textures, and its using the wrong one for the body shape. Basically, how do I find out which I need to drag and drop into? EDIT: For some reason there's no CBBE showing up in my ModLoader 2 plugins? Does anyone know how to set it as priority so that it loads the correct texture?
Grey Cloud Posted April 6, 2019 Posted April 6, 2019 I don't understand what you mean by 'edit the textures'. If you mean 'replace' then textures live in Data/textures/actors/character/female (for NPCs). All else being equal, the last one you installed should be the one being used. The game can only use the wrong body shape if you have installed the texture for the wrong body shape. Uninstall the texture mods you are not using/don't want and make sure the one you want is for CBBE. No idea about MO2.
PsychoMachina Posted April 6, 2019 Posted April 6, 2019 CBBE itself does not use a plugin as it replaces the vanilla, female body. In MO2, check CBBE's mod order in the left window (the right window shows the masters or plugins of mods that use either of those). Click on the CBBE mod (left window) and drag it down the mod load order to where you know no other body replacer will be loaded after it. Now do the same for the CBBE textures you want to use, click and drag after (below) the CBBE mod. This will make MO2 load the new textures after it loads CBBE and overwrite the original textures. EDIT: An alternative is to make a mash-up of textures. If you don't mind mixing different textures to get the 'look' you want then create a new folder in the MO2 mod folder (C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\ModOrganizer\Skyrim\mods) and copy the different textures (diffuse, normal, specular, sub-surface) from the different texture replacer mods and add them into the new texture mash-up folder. In the left window of MO2, you will see an entry for the new folder. Select to activate it then click and drag lower in the mod load order to ensure MO2 will load this last and overwrite the others...or simply deactivate the other texture replacers. Test in your game and make any additional changes to the textures until you get something you like.
TheCyanWool Posted April 6, 2019 Author Posted April 6, 2019 I went through everything, and found out that CBBE is changing the model, but none of the texture mods are actually applying. This problem sounds like a pain to fix lol, so I'm just gonna go get dinner and sort it out when I next have free time

This problem sounds like a pain to fix lol, so I'm just gonna go get dinner and sort it out when I next have free time If you move the CBBE texture replacer after (lower) CBBE in the mod order, you will see a little lightning bolt icon next to it and another next to the CBBE mod. If the lightning bolt includes a plus, "+", sign then it's overwriting some or all files of another mod. If the lightning bolt icon includes a minus, "-", sign then it's being overwritten by another mod. If the new textures are overwriting the original CBBE textures then the new textures will show a lightning bolt with "+". Right-click on the icon and select INFORMATION from the list. A new window will appear. Select the CONFLICTS tab, this will show what files are overwriting or being overwritten. If the top list is populated, that means the new textures are overwriting the files of another mod. Check that it's overwriting the CBBE original textures. If not then that would explain why the new textures are not being applied. If so, you'll need to see any of these applies: If the mod comes with a plugin, is it activated and lower in the load order. Do the new textures have the same name as the original textures it's meant to replace. Are the new textures in the same folder hierarchy as the original textures. Most important...are the new textures made for the body replacer being used.
Yinkle Posted April 6, 2019 Posted April 6, 2019 What I do is create a new mod in MO2 (MyTextureMods) and put all my desired textures there making sure it overwrites all the other mods by putting it towards the bottom priority wise. I also add meshes to this mod if a mod uses a bodytype that I don't like.
TheCyanWool Posted April 6, 2019 Author Posted April 6, 2019 So I found the problem I accidentally installed the UNP version of Fair Skin instead of CBBE lol
