Hajtus Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 So like it says on the title i've been having major problems with my fps. It drops to 1 for couple seconds before jumping back to around 60. It only (mostly) happens when outside, i thought it was because of Sim Settlements Conguest, because it started when i downloaded that, but i still get those drops even with it uninstallled and starting new game. Anyone know what could be causing it? V The Heretic Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 From the looks of your load order, where are you getting these drops at? If it's at random, it's the game engine itself. However, if it's Diamond City, might be the Diamond City Expansion. If it's in settlements, could be either A) Too many objects trying to load at once and it's causing severe FPS drops, in which this a known problem and nothing has been done about it.

Yeah it seems to be happening near settlements, thanks anyways
Reginald_001 Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 Do you have the 'quiet settlement objects' mod installed? They introduce 'empty' wavs, which completely wreck the engine (especially on Win 10). I had this same issue, took me a WEEK to figure out it was related to SOUND, not to graphics.

ijakor Posted April 4, 2019 Posted April 4, 2019 read this the last post from this topic https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/5864763-npc´s-cause-stutterstutter-spikes-might-be-interesting-for-authors/page-4 With a lot of mods that manipulate the npcs even by putting 1 item in their inventory it is required to export the face gen. otherwise the game engine will get very busy
Veladarius Posted April 9, 2019 Posted April 9, 2019 Outcasts and Remnants, Project Valkyrie and Fusion City Rising did that to me in any area that it modified no matter how small the change (there are a number of places near settlements where it adds transportation stations) and it dropped me down the same way when I can get 30 fps downtown with 2k textures and a ugrids of 9. I checked the ram and disk usage during these drops and it was loading a large amount of data (several hundred mb/s) and if in one of their spaces I have had the game use as much as 12 gb of ram (normal for me is 3 to 5 gb).

So I am having this issue in the "Brotherhood of Gold" shelter. FPS tanks to 10 or below where everywhere else it is fine. Only thing I can think of is the water in the pool area?
