It's the only way your gonna get fast load times!

jinshogoki Posted March 28, 2019 Posted March 28, 2019 I found this post some time ago that explains how to make cc load faster. I only have under 3gb of cc and I'm not sure it's enough to notice a huge difference, though I do think things load a bit faster. It may be worth giving it a try

Don't take this the wrong way, but maybe you could lower the amount of CCs you have? 7 GB is definitely gonna make the loading times longer even on a SSD (though much more tolerable than say being on a HDD). Trying not to judge here, but I wouldn't be surprised if you don't make use of all those CCs.. some of them are probably either redundant or one or a few are better looking than others. I guess what I'm saying is that if you clean up your library of CCs you might find that you only really need a couple of GBs worth of it and not the full 7GB that you currently use. Getting rid of those that you don't need or even necessarily want should help your loading times. And of course, there's also the options of merging CCs as well as renaming them so there are no special characters in the filenames (characters like parenthesis and brackets for example). Last but not least, if it's taking you actual minutes to load the game then you probably are using a HDD and not SSD, so I would HIGHLY ADVISE you make the investment to upgrade. EDIT: I just looked at my mods folder and it's just teetering over 3 GB, though I'm sure if I cleaned it up some more I could bring it down to 2 GB. That being said, I've lurked around for Sims 4 CC and I know what's out there, but even then I've been very selective in what I need in my game so I don't have too many CCs (all things considering). EDIT 2: On a fresh boot-up, my Sims 4 (which has all the official DLCs), only takes about 30 seconds to load at most. I am on a SSD, but I don't think I have the strongest CPU out there, but not too bad of a wait with only 3 GB worth of CC.

It really depends on each person's computer rig lol. That said though, he mentioned waiting 5-10 minutes... MINUTES!! Honestly, I doubt merging CC is gonna be enough. I'm already thinking the guy is on HDD and not SSD.. and if he is on SSD, then he's got some underlying problem elsewhere.
