Krazybitch Posted February 24, 2019 Posted February 24, 2019 I followed ESO's video(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GNj386sBZQ8) as best i could to install Caffeine ENB( https://www.nexusmods.com/skyr... ) into my Skyrim game. I couldn't follow it perfectly to the letter because there were files that he copied over that just weren't in there when I went to do it. I downloaded the enb thingy from here. http://enbdev.com/download_mod... v0.366. as I said. it looked different when I extracted the .rar file. i didn't know what files were needed and what weren't, so I dropped everything thatwas in the Wrapperversion folder into my game file(C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim). Then I took everything that was in the Caffeine ENB .rar file and pasted it in there(C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim) too. Now i'm having problems in the game. My Character is an argonian. I'm using the Dragonic Texture. my black scale pattern is now covered with patches of white, but my head stayed the same, but my horns keep flickering between looking right and having white spots on them too. and the games has these red words in the top left hand side of the screen that says "ERROR! bFloatPointRenderTarget=1 is not in SkyrimPrefs.ini or you have several copies of this file" I went in and removed all the files those ENB .rars had in them, and the game runs fine again, but I still want to install this ENB, so i need to know "What went wrong?" and "How can I make it work right?" also, I don't know if this is pertinent information, but I'm playing the standered edition. I have the DLCs, but a lot of the mods I like were never updated to the Special Edition, so I went back to playing the regular non-HD version, and just been trying to pretty it up with mods.
27X Posted February 24, 2019 Posted February 24, 2019 Also you're doing it backwards. You need the enb dll file from enbdev, and to change your skyrim.ini and skyrimprefs.ini to the required settings you need to configure the enblocal.ini to your settings, and there is no such thing as a drag and drop enblocal file; and anyone that tells you there is, is an idiot. so you need the .dll file, and an ebseries folder in the same directory with the helper dll, and then whatever else Caffeine has. You need to configure the enblocal.ini to your specific system. Period. No exceptions. https://wiki.step-project.com/Guide:ENBlocal_INI whatever comes next after that depends entirely on your systems specs and your level of modding knowledge, and whether the author of your enb knows what the fuck they're actually doing.

Krazybitch Posted February 24, 2019 Author Posted February 24, 2019 OK, I see where i messed up. I did do it backwords... I don't know why ESO did it in that order in his vedeo.. strange.... I'm still trying to get it to work. I'm experimenting with things. The Caffeine ENB mod author didnt really give me much to go on besides "GO HERE, Download Latest ENB Preset" UPDATE!! OK! I got-r-licked. Thank you both VERY VERY MUCH I couldn't have done it without yuns. Turns out the problem was I had to go into some .ini files and make some adjustments. I literally just fallowed along with the Video 27X posted and now it all works perfectly. Truth be told, up until about 10 minutes ago I honestly never even know you could open an .ini file like that. XD

Steady now. It is very easy to screw your game if you mess with ini files. I'm just saying don't go mad with your new found powers. ?
