Converting CBBE BODY to UNP -- not armors!

Load order checked through LOOT, no issues found aside from some cleaning required on Dragonborn, Dawnguard, Hearthfire, the Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Edition Patch and Update.esm.  This isn't about a CTD, though.  I have another issue with that, but it's weird and random so I'll deal with it once I review papyrus log since I just set it up.

I am running Babes of Skyrim, but I want to run it with CBBE instead of UNP body type.  I'm pretty sure it's doable, since I'm seeing this on the mod page: "If you want to use CBBE, just overwrite with the CBBE files. Remember to use suitable CBBE textures too!"

I've looked for tutorials, and I'm finding tutorials on how to convert armors between the two, but I'm not having a problem with my armors so far (using all CBBE ones, but now I can figure out how to use UNP, which is nice.).  The problem that I'm having are with the tiddies (and the rest of the body).  The texture map is off from the mesh, and it looks weird.  The nipple texture, for example, is not over the nipple part of the mesh.

I'm assuming that I need to do something with the body parts, but this is where I can't find a tutorial on it.  What do I need to convert?  Mesh, textures, both?  Once I know WHAT I need to convert, what files are they, and how do I do so?

So you are using both the CBBE meshes and textures, right? I had that problem when I first used a couple of UNP followers in my CBBE world. I only replaced the meshes so the textures did not line up with the meshes. Conversely using just the textures will cause the same problem, if you are changing over you need to use both the mesh and texture file. At least that was the only problem I had.

I am actually not completely sure.  That's part of my problem, actually.  I assume that I am using CBBE meshes (from the mod of the same name) with UNP textures from Babes of Skyrim, but I really don't know for sure.   How would I check that?  And if I'm right, how would I convert the Babes of Skyrim UNP textures for use with CBBE?  I want to use CBBE because one of the other mods I have (can't remember which off the top of my head) doesn't work with UNP.

Do you use MO?

And what skin textures do you use? The default CBBE, or something else?

( It's a simple copy and paste overwrite procedure, but knowing these two things will help me walk you through it )

I use MO, and as far as I'm aware, I just use the default CBBE skin textures when I'm not using Babes of Skyrim.  I'm attaching my load order below since I might be wrong.

The load order won't tell me, because skin texture mods don't have a plugin.

Replacing body textures is simply copying a few files and overwriting the ones you want replaced. However the Babes of Skyrim mod contains a LOT of them ( the base dds, msn.dds, s.dds, and sk.dds files, + alternate msn.dds files for every race ), but the file structure is vanilla, so this can be done very easily in just a few quick steps.

We'll go with the assumption that you are using the default CBBE textures.

So; Find Calientes Beautiful Bodies Edition in the left pane of MO. Right click on it, and select " open in explorer ".

Open textures>actors>character. Highlight all of the folders inside the character folder, right click and select " copy ".

Now find Babes of Skyrim in the left pane of MO. Again, right click and select " open in explorer ".

Open textures>actors>character. Right click inside the character folder ( make sure none of the individual folders are highlighted, click in an empty spot ) and select " paste ". When it asks, select to replace the files in this location.

You're done.

See, I knew it was going to be SUPER easy once it was explained to me.  That did it!  Though, now there's a neck seam, is there a fix for that that you know of?

Most likely an issue with the facetints. The GF wants to watch a couple of movies tonight, so it'll probably be tomorrow before I get a chance to look into it.

No worries at all.  Thank you for all the help thus far!

Huh.  And now it looks like when I enter a sex animation, the PC is visible, but the NPC is not.  No crash there, and the PC starts doing the animation, but the NPC just disappears until the animation is over.  I'm assuming it's because of the swap over of the files, but I'm not sure why that would cause this.

Checking on my end using the method I gave you above.

No neck seams. No invisible bodies. Works flawlessly.

You've got a conflict somewhere. In looking over your load order fast, do me a favor and move XPMSE to the bottom of the left pane of MO, and it's .esp to the bottom of the right, just above alternate start. Nothing should ever be above XPMSE to insure that it's never overwritten.

EDIT; Probably a dumb question, but just to make sure; I see that you have the babes .esp at the bottom of your load order. But, do you also have the Babes mod at the bottom in the left pane of MO to make sure it isn't being overwritten?

Was unaware that the MO order still mattered, actually.  I thought LOOT overrode that.  I moved them both down to the bottom of MO, with Babes just above XPMSE, and now the animations work and the NPC doesn't disappear (and it ALSO seems to have fixed the random CTDs I would get when I load the game, so that's a plus) but there's still a neck seam.  It's not as noticeable sometimes as others, but then there's this: 20190113095620_1.jpg.bf924baaa52f307f5fc01f0bb9cccb41.jpg

ALWAYS make sure that your priority order in the left pane of MO matches your load order in the right pane for any mods that have plugins.

As for the picture; That is the grey face bug. Not a seam.

It's generally caused by having multiple mods with conflicting facegens trying to overwrite the same NPC. There are more than a few .esp files in your load order that I'm unfamiliar with, so unfortunately I can't tell you where the conflict is coming from. You'll have to use show conflicts in MO or TESVEdit to find them and correct them.

So I found the issue with the grey face bug.  When I copied the CBBE files over, I just put that character folder in, I didn't integrate the files with the existing character folder, so there wasn't a facegendata folder at all in the mod.  I fixed that, integrating the contents of the CBBE character folder with the contents of the Babes folder, and now that works, but the characters are invisible during sex again.  Not sure why that happened.

As for conflicts, there's a lot of them.  I'm not super familiar with how said conflicts would be resolved, though.  I've checked a few tutorials, and they're about as clear as mud, I'm pretty new to modding, unfortunately.  Is there an easy tutorial out there or something like that?

I did find this in MO, Babes conflicts with both SOS and CBBE, apparently even after I moved those files over and integrated them into it.  There's others as well that I don't fully understand, like FNIS conflicting with "data" and "Overwrite".  I don't know where those would be, or (similar to the Babes conflicts) what to do with them.
