[Request] Short dress high waist skirt HDT for UUNP

Done with edits, just checking to make sure they work right.  Thinking of some non-floral retextures as well, more suitable to basic lingerie.  Probably solid colors (black, red, violet), varying transparencies, etc.

 

EDIT: attached shortened textures.  Just dump into the original textures and overwrite, then all the dresses will be short.  Alternately, create separate versions of the outfits that are short by design (texture sets for instance) and put these into a different directory.

Yea it's awesome for a texture change. It gets weird with high boots since the mesh reaches lower, but it's really great! Thank you very much!!!

Its a layered alpha issue.  Actually a vanilla Skyrim bug with transparencies.  You *may* be able to fix that by switching the transparency on the dress nif from 237/threshold 0 to 4845/threshold 50 or 100 (I'm using 4845/100).

 

You can use HDT OIT (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/51505) to get rid of that, though at a performance cost.

 

Note that the Nexus link is old.  It worked fine for my older Radeon (6950), but not my newer nVidia card (1060).  You may be able to find more up-to-date versions on Chinese sites.  If you are interested but this one doesn't work for you, then I can see about finding the base version for the one I am using.  I only switched because the old one stopped working right, and through some searching and luck I found that HDT's own system is using the same video card I am, so she made another version, and that one works perfectly.

 

Sample image: Ignoring some clipping, there's five or six layers of translucency there (hair, top layer "dress", garters, panties, skirt, stockings, and curtain in the background), and no flickering or blinking textures.  Definitely recommend OIT if you can get it working right on your system.

Two directions we can go:

 

1) Get Nifskope and I will talk you through changing the transparencies.

I'll test a bit myself first and get back to you on that.

 

Could I ask for same treatment on a skirt? It*s BDO Valkyrie skirt. Want it at the same length as the dress. Is that doable? Endless grateful! It also has a very good HDT and I use it with UUNP.

Black, white and red, one version each for normal length and short.  Haven't tested anything but the red, so if there's an issue, pls notify me.

Use bodyslide to fix the shape.  If you use UUNP special as the base, it will have the vagina.

I never use Bodyslide before because one of my friends commented that using it will replace ALL of the female bodies in the game and will lead to more clipping among the NPCs since their outfits do not match with the bodyslide present. Like how the mnidress unp will have clipping when using UNPB bodyslide.

 

Anyone can confirm whether this is true or not?

Not sure what your after. On the pic that's legwarmers from Bouncy bodices and the boots covers the feet and are from the mod FurArmorSet.

I wanted the boots to be shaggy fur legwarmers instead of actual boots. But it's no biggie, great mod still.

Load them into Outfit Studio, use a mask on the parts you want to keep, delete vertices from the rest.  Probably need to add feet into the outfit since there probably aren't any.  Alternately you could renumber the body slot (38 would be best, 53 and 54 would also be reasonable choices) and create a new item for them.

Great advice as always! I've tried to renumber body slots by checking online instructions, but I never seem to get it right. Any advice for dummies?

I use xEdit and Nifskope for virtually all of this, though Outfit Studio has a method for adjusting the nif as well.

 

Body slot data has to match in two or three places:

 

1) The "Armor" record (xEdit lists that as ARMO), which defines what slot it takes and determines what items can/can't be worn at the same time.  If you are using the mod that adds slot data to SkyUI inventory, this is where those numbers come from.

 

2) The "Armor Addon"/"Armature" record (xEdit lists that as ARMA), defines what slot the nif occupies, as well as those it will block (in conjunction with the priority values).  Note that you can put as many slots here as you want, such as a robe (32) that hides amulets (35) and underwear (52), you could use all three of those and make sure the priority is at least 5 and it *should* block sight of those items.

 

3) The BSDismemberSkinInstance data in the nif, under "Partitions" (potentially one of these with every NiTriShape in the nif).  Unless you have a specific reason to use that data (mainly for masking/blocking other body slots), I'd personally use Nifskope to Block -> Convert -> NiSkinInstance, which removes the linkage between the nif and body slot data and is one less thing that can go wrong.

This is my CBBE conversion of Keung's minidress set.   It is quite free-hanging and breezy.    The SMP file that came with it did not work very well, parts of dress kept 'floating' up.   I used  the SMP xml from 'Summer Casual' in SunJeong's Ninirim collection as base to make SMP for this one.
