North-Star Posted December 22, 2018 Posted December 22, 2018 Hi, I have some gender related problems with Sexlab animations in Skyrim. Often FF pairings use MF animations, solo masturbation scenes seem to ignore the gender as well. Males are using female animations and females using male animations. The weirdest problem are some male city guards, who get SOS pubic hair instead of shlongs. I double checked all settings in SexLab, SexLab aroused and so on, but I couldn´t find anything helpful. Any ideas or similar experiences how to debug this?

Someone more knowledgeable than I can chime in here, but I believe a lot of that has nothing to do with Sexlab, but the animations themselves, i.e. the way they are tagged / keywords used to describe them. I think we've all run into what you describe at one time or another. Only way I can think of to fix things like that are via the animator who did the animation package. There's been many times my female character gets assaulted by another female NPC, but I'm the fucker and not the fuckee...which makes no sense. "...city guards, who get SOS pubic hair instead of shlongs." I think that's some mod doing that. I'm not aware of Sexlab, SOS or animation package ever applying pubic hair.
SirNibbles Posted December 22, 2018 Posted December 22, 2018 In the case of "aggressive" kind of animations there's not really a way to assign a tag as to who the agressor is. Before when we didn't have a lot of animations there were just some MF animations in which the male always was the agressor so you couldn't have gotten this problem then. When a mod calls on for an "aggressive" animation it looks up all animations which have the tag "aggressive" or "BDSM" or whatever tag that has been assigned by that mod, what most of those mods don't do is check is who the aggressor is. And some mods don't even check the tags for female/male, they just put in the first "aggressive" animation in the animation pool they can find. This can simply be fixed by having some common tags that should be used by both mod creators and people who create SLAL packs (something like a "female aggressor" tag), unfortunately that requires every creator for SLAL packs to co-operate with those tags and update their stuff.... same goes for the mod creators which I don't really see happening. And that's just for the aggressor part, but in the same way some mods don't check for female/male assignment; they just put whatever animation they can find in the pool that has the tags they're looking for.
North-Star Posted December 22, 2018 Author Posted December 22, 2018 Ouch, so this seems to be harder to fix. I think I´ll try to re-install all animations then and only choose the SLAL packs from the animators themselves and no converted packs. Normally I check the tags as I try to avoid ANAL and some other stuff I don´t like to happen/see. The pubic hair is a SoS mod named "SOS Pubic Hair for Females Addon (AIO) 1.3b" I found here. It works great to give the females of the races different pubic styles, but somehow some male NPCs from different NPC mods get pubic hair instead of shlongs. Maybe because they´re generated randomly, so that the gender of some of the NPC is changing from time to time. I don´t know, for now I have to assign a shlong manually when I stumble across it.
coldloc Posted February 16, 2019 Posted February 16, 2019 tips for debug on specific anim, ( supposing anim player treat a1 as female, a2 as male in the anim def naming... but some do not always name like this pattern such as 0sex 700+ anims ) 1.add log in the paremeter string that debug.sendanimevent( string ) debug.notification(" anim "+ string +" is being played ") 2. use player.sae animeventname to test the anim is for which gender and use jump key to exit. 3. alter the mod related fins txt animevent register order like switch _a2 and _a1 ... for incorrect ones re run fins for modders, 4.copy hkx generated from mo overwrite folder to mo mod folder 5.run fins for users and they get updated however, if u dont want to self custom these wrong orders , just use the swap actors key provided by sexlab framework. And even if u fixed the 2p anim gender in such way, it's not likely to fix gender wrong type issue in 3p ~ 5p anim and in their actors swap.
Blade_Namf1 Posted October 2, 2019 Posted October 2, 2019 Im having the exact same problem. My male character does female animations and vice versa. Ive noticed the position always seems to default to the male where it should be "Female Position 1". Ive tried changing this half way through a scene but it doesnt make any difference. Ive been scouting the net for months but yet to find a workable solution. For now I've stopped using the mod for this very reason The animation always starts with my FNIS spell, so maybe thats something im doing wrong? As a bit of a newbie to this, I dont want to start changing and messing with settings too much as I only just got all the mods working nicely together. However i am open to suggestions!
Caithness Posted July 12, 2020 Posted July 12, 2020 Bit old now, but this is the single most annoying thing in the whole game. I can cope with buggy quests, occasional ctd's, but having to go through the MCM menu every time before I talk to anyone to make sure my gender hasn't been changed by sexlab. Really - all this talk about it being changed by animations - I would rather skip any such animations and have sexlab LOCK the gender so nothing other than player manual control can alter it.
Teddar Posted July 24, 2020 Posted July 24, 2020 Still an issue for me too. I'm playing though a port of Slaverun in Skyrim SE and more than once a pairing of MF actors has played FF animations. I have ended up disabling all my FF animations so that FF parings now use MF animations and a strap-on. I guess that it could be the way the animations are tagged. For me it doesn't seem like my character's gender was changed. Its more like Sexlab is playing what it thinks is an appropriate animation for the two actors involved due to the tags being wrongly set both actors are being identified as females when one is male.
