CrimsonOmegaLance Posted November 25, 2018 Posted November 25, 2018 Hi all, I'm trying to cut down on mods, which is hard for me. I'm about at 64k strings and I just started my game, so I want to cut out some mods that are problematic string wise. I'm using ReSaver, but I'm unsure how to check how many strings are attached to each mod. When I click on a mod, I see "ChangeForms" and "ScriptInstances." Is there another place to look at how many strings are in a mod? When people are getting string counts for mods are they starting a mod by itself in a new game and then checking to see what the string count is? Any help would be appreciated.
donttouchmethere Posted November 25, 2018 Posted November 25, 2018 you could use Crash fixes to overcome the 64k string limitation or did I miss something here? (especially because you use the Resaver tool already)
tuxagent7 Posted November 25, 2018 Posted November 25, 2018 TESV ESS Editor at nexus Open the save game In global data table 3 , then papyrus, first right is string Edit : Ooops Sorry didnt read it right this is for total strings and not for a individual mod, pardon my french interpretation
CrimsonOmegaLance Posted November 25, 2018 Author Posted November 25, 2018 Yes, I have crash fixes, but I'm still trying to cut down on problematic string mods. I don't know if string count is still an issue with crash fixes or if the crash fixes completely eliminates the string problem.
Nazzzgul666 Posted November 26, 2018 Posted November 26, 2018 Afaik crash fixes entirely removes the problem. What you still have to worry about are scripts running at once, and cloak spells and such because if it's too much they can cause stack dumps and fuck your game. But that can be reduced a lot by changing settings, depends on CPU, Papyrus settings, background programs,.... i.e. as long as you don't have problems, ignore it.
