I spent all day downloading and installing mods for a hardcore survival adventure, loaded up fine and configured everything (which took over an hour itself), and then started playing. Sadly, I had misconfigured kidnapping and it triggered instantly and despite running FNIS my heroine stayed in the bleeding out pose while the other actors stood inside eachother. So I went to reload... and the game crashed. Odd. I relaunched the game and tried to load into the earliest configured save, an interior without much happening, and while it started to load it crashed where it would usually transition out of the load screen. I tried from an even earlier save where the mods were all running but not configured, and SexLab and Frostfall hadn't been started, and got the same type of crash. Oddly however I can still load the earliest save, made before even opening the mod section of SkyUI, and I can make new games, and even after configuring everything and playing they won't crash until I try to load a save. I potentially made a mistake of using NMMs auto-sort in frustration, so sadly this doesn't reflect my original load order, but this is what I'm currently working with. Now it crashes the instant I press load, so in the morning I'll have to sort it back out to roughly how I had it, or *hopefully* how some helpful soul with some more Skyrim modding experiance than myself suggests (its been years since I actually modded the game). I would like to put it down to the number of script heavy mods, from the above testing I did, but I've seen bigger load orders with more SexLab mods in them. After working all day to build the 'perfect' mod folder designed to make day to day survival extremely challenging it's kind of heartbreaking. I'm tempted just to scrap the entire thing and go back to SSE with FlowerGirls. I miss the stability already.

I'm tempted just to scrap the entire thing and go back to SSE with FlowerGirls. I miss the stability already. First, you need to get rid of SexLab Nude Creatures (all three). To do that you need to upgrade from your current version of More Nasty Critters to the one for SLAL. If you are not in the habit of reading directions for mods I strongly encourage you to make an exception for this mod. It is not hard but it is particular. If you follow the directions you will have no problem and that will likely solve your problem (although whenever you change your load order you should run LOOT, run FNIS and start a new game). Second, if the problem persists anyway (anything's possible) please download your new load order (preferably in a spoiler and preferably from LOOT) and the text from the top half of FNIS after you have run it.

As I say they are precise and detailed but they need to be followed (even more than other mods). For the record, you do not have to download hentai creatures if you don't want it (and if you don't want it don't download it and add to your total script load).
Daguy Posted November 13, 2018 Author Posted November 13, 2018 I've just temporarily disabled the whole lot to get it working, and it does seem to have fixed the loading issue, but still tinkering. Appreciate the advice; I'll report back if I find any new and glorious errors. Edit: The crash issues seems to be resolved, so thank you very much for that. I'm running my load order through LOOT as you said, as white FNIS is coming back with no errors, people are still not performing the sex animations, so must be down to load order. Edit2: Oh dear. LOOT sorting it seems to have killed it again, back to not even being able to start a new game or loading a file without an instant crash to desktop. Will sort it back to a state where it will launch again lol. Here is the way it sorted it. Psalam Posted November 13, 2018 Posted November 13, 2018 Double check your settings in SexLab and make sure you have registered your SLAL animations. And, what mod are you using to initiate sex animations? It would be helpful to know if they work with some mods but not with others.

Psalam Posted November 13, 2018 Posted November 13, 2018 I do want to reiterate: if you change your load order you should run LOOT and FNIS and START A NEW GAME. Your save will contain a lot of "stuff" that can come back and bite you on the ass (and then you won't know what progress you've really made).

LOOT picks up one error, which I believe is simply that I haven't used it to sort the order this time, but I don't see anything too concerning. I can launch the game, create a character, set up Sexout/Frostfall/ect with no issues. I made sure to register SLAL animations. I can also load and reload the new saves I just made to test. Sex happens... I just don't get the animations; effects and everything else works. And also the small issue of being unable to exit the Inn without a crash. This is all intensly frustrating lol. You're right that it is usually safe to ignore a warning but it is not safe to ignore an error. Have you tried more than one mod for sex? If so which ones? You need to move More Nasty Critters above SLAL in your load order (manually if necessary, that is, ignore LOOT on this one) and every other animation package used by SLAL (like the Leito animations) after SLAL. Finally, what do you mean you crash when you try to leave the inn? Is that where you start with ASLAL? Have you tried an alternative location? If this is at the very beginning please download 1) the output of the top half of FNIS after you've run it (that's a simple copy and paste) and 2) a papyrus log (if you don't know about papyrus logs information is available in my second blog entry - the link is in my signature).

The usual 'you dun goofed FNIS' stuff except I didn't. Ah thanks, missed that one. Yeah, I started in the Riverwood Inn for ease of NPCs and location for testing, and whenever I try to head outside Skyrim craps itself. Bruma seemed to work okay last time, but of course, the load order is different now. I'll try with the tweaks you've raised above and if that doesn't work I'll come back with the top half of FNIS too. I really hope it doesn't come to having to mess around with Papyrus, but appreciate that you went to the effort of making a blog about this stuff, so thanks for that.

You have 12351 total animations in what you have already indicated is a script heavy game. It is possible that you are also pushing the limits of what animations your game can handle (yes, I know you have no FNIS warnings and yes I know that you have FNIS XXL - sadly FNIS only tells you what FNIS can handle NOT what Bugthesda's engine can handle in your heavily modded game (again, more in my blog)). I would encourage you to pick an animation pack or two (roughly 2k animations) and remove them and see if things don't work better for you. If it doesn't you've wasted a couple minutes but if it works you may finally be able to move on.

I actually managed to get the animations to run; the error was being an old man who doesn't trust NMM enough and having installed the framework manually. Doing it through NMM made at least one scene play out. That character is still stuck in the Inn, but hey, progress (and I suspect that's a bug with Live Another Life). Thanks for all your help. If I keep having issues I'll try to cut down on the animations lol, it might be a bit excessive yes.

A few which leapt out at me: 3DNPC and any/all of Delzaron's mods. I might have missed it but you have an ASLAL Bruma add-on but don't have Bruma installed. A lot of your animation packs are loading before the animation loader. Daguy Posted November 13, 2018 Author Posted November 13, 2018 Thanks Grey. Bruma is installed^^ I was just there. Yeah, it is a heavy strain, but largely seems to work as far an gameplay goes. SME rebalances the economy since the mod (1 file) I was going to use was hidden and all the others seemed to need a patcher. A survival game where gold rains from the sky sadly reduces the challenge, so I'm willing to take a 4 plugin hit, as they won't be active on every run. MatureSkinComplexions is from the UNP Mature texture set. It's always been my go-to due to the realism.
