Bronz0h Posted November 11, 2018 Posted November 11, 2018 I'm looking for assistance in making creatures into armor pieces. These creatures will be insects like the Bloatfly and Stingwing. What I'm trying to accomplish is to have these insects on the player's body like they've grabbed onto her. A good example of this is in one of Nisetanaka's skyrim mods (Falmer Bikini Armor) where a chaurus is an armor piece on the player's back. I've attempted this on my own with no success. If anyone has knowledge or an understanding of what I need to do to accomplish this then I would greatly appreciate it.

If one person is wearing "living armor" you might be fine, but when 100 are wearing it, your video card will melt. ?

But I only want my character to be wearing it. So that's only 1 instance, therefore the lag should be non-existent. Plus, my computer is no potato. Nisetanaka was able to do it with the Chaurus and yes that is Skyrim, but I'd like to think that there is a way for it to work in Fallout 4. It only needs to be a static mesh too.

Oh, it's NOT gonna be animated? Well that's different. 1. Take the object in 3DMax & hide everything but the skeleton. 2. Delete the skeleton. 3. Position the object how you like. 4. Rename the object. 5. Set the objects attributes to clothing. 6. Save & export. That should do it. ?

How and where do I set the objects attributes to clothing? If you want to make it a standalone armor/piece of clothing, you'll need the Creation Kit, which can be downloaded from the BethNet launcher. This article explains how to create a piece of armor in the Creation Kit (CK): https://wiki.nexusmods.com/index.php/Creating_an_armour_for_Fallout_4._Part_3#Add_the_armour_to_the_game_as_a_new_item (I'd also suggest reading up on basic use of the Creation Kit beforehand - it can be a bit confusing at first if you don't know what you're looking at.) If you don't already have the outfit setup for a CBBE body (or whichever body mod you're making this for) and saved as a .NIF file, you'll also need to do that before getting into the Creation Kit. For CBBE, you can just import the .OBJ/.FBX into Outfit Studio and place it wherever you'd like on the body. Outfit Studio is pretty simple to use, and there should be plenty of tutorials out there for it. Good luck! I'd love to see the finished product.

Yeah, I've been messing with it for hours today with no luck. I'll try my hand at what you've suggested sometime soon. I need a break, lol.
