OutrageousJinx Posted October 16, 2018 Posted October 16, 2018 Did some SD+ content and fuqed around with my DD devices a little 2 much apparently and wasn't paying attention. Can't equip any nip piercings because it has it registered as me already having one on. Well technically I can equip one and go through the whole thing but it won't show up on my body because the game believes I already have one already on my body even though it's not equipped through the inventory. A rogue script/quest that got detached from its respective item at some point? This can happen with the collar and the gag too. It'll show on your character but not be equipped making it impossible to get it removed through normal means. Simpest solution is loading an old save but I caught it fairly late and I was curious if anyone knew any simple console solutions, etc. Thanks.

I had this problem in the past and LazyBoot walked me through it. I have spent some time just now looking through the DD threads and can not find the actual conversation. That means I am going to try to tell you what he told me and I'm sorry if it isn't exactly right. In the game put yourself in third person view, open the console and click on yourself. Highlight devices on the left side of the screen and use the Shift key to activate it. Scroll down the list until you find the offending item in that inventory. Make a note of its ID. That was the hard part. Then, in the console, type in player.drop the ID number and 1. It should look something like this: "player.drop XX123456 1" without the quotes. Hope that's right and helps.
Mister X Posted October 16, 2018 Posted October 16, 2018 The best solution: never ever ever unequip any DD item via console. There are several reasons for this: 1) All DD items are split in two, one item that is shown on your avatar and another item, that is shown in your inventory. It's for modder's convenience afaik. 2) Many DD items are heavily tied in scripts/quests/other nasty stuff so you may possibly break a whole quest line, when you force unequip a DD item. 3) There may be more reasons, I just can't remember them at the moment ... Many DD mods provide a safeword feature (DDi itself, too, I think) that unequip all possible items safely. For some mods, like DCUR, this safeword also ends all quests and removes quest related DD items safely, too. Just look for that in the MCM menus. The other method is, to use the ingame features like: finishing the quest, asking a blacksmith or follower, struggle out of an item, ...
Laura Posted October 16, 2018 Posted October 16, 2018 I don't suggest doing it through the console. There are too many things going on in the background and you're very likely to break something.
OutrageousJinx Posted October 16, 2018 Author Posted October 16, 2018 I have yet to remove any DD items through console which is why I needed advice on how to do it. But that's generally what I try to do except for glitched items. In my experience the "remove all items" parts of certain mods don't seem to work on certain things or I might just be using it on the wrong mod. There's also a mod called DD Equip which is supposed to allow you to equip and remove DD devices but it's basically worthless for solving glitched DD devices as it doesn't want to touch anything that has a quest on it. Which is why my character is unable to use the entire mod essentially after using POP because it locks it out. Thanks for the help so far.

While I sympathize (and generally agree) with the others who have posted I see your point. You're caught between a rock and a hard place and this appears to be the only way through. So, after consulting my notes, and trying it in game again to make sure I understood those notes, this is what LazyBoot told me to do. Most of it is exactly what I told you before. Go into 3rd person view. Activate the console. Select yourself. On the left hand side of the screen you want to highlight (turn red) the "equipment" tab. Do not hit this with the mouse button or enter or anything other than the Shift key. This will give you a submenu of equipment (including things that do not show in your inventory). You will recognize the item you want to be rid of because you won't know it from the inventory that you are used to seeing and it will probably be represented by a quotation mark. Highlight that item with the mouse and hit Shift (again, make certain that you don't click on it, etc.). That will then give you the submenu showing the item's ID. Make a note of it. Go back down into the normal console area and do the player.removeitem XX123456 1 thing and you will be free of it. It has worked for me in the past (that's why I kept notes). As always when you're doing something like this make certain that you make a hard save prior to doing this. Good luck!

After doing this I've learned that the piercing doesn't actually equip now at all after looking at my equipment through console. While I do have a item I don't know what it's for when I try to remove it through console it not only doesn't remove but it rolls on stuff which I have no idea about. I'm just going to assume that's the wrong save and move on from it. I'll probably reload a save.

Although the others (who know more about DD than I do) could have said more, my experience is that those types of items tend to be added when someone (in your case DeepBlueFrog) adds DD items and they are not part of the DD development team. Most of them, again in my experience, can be safely ignored and just show up in the inventory as weightless unnamed objects. Once in a while though I have hit a snag like yours and that is what got me to find an answer.

When I activate the DD device from SD+, Sanguine Artifact it makes my nipple piercings not show up. It doesn't come off anyway and is a clit piercing. Simple solution, never touch it.
