Heartbreaker714 Posted October 12, 2018 Posted October 12, 2018 So I started a new game as a Ningheim Male and all of the sudden my game started crashing when I headed to Morthal for the first time. Then, anytime I try to hire a carriage it also crashes. The good news is that I uploaded my crash dumps because I was at a bit of a lose. I totally got lucky, because it actually gave me a usable clue. Here's what Crash Dump says. Well I looked up the exception code in TES5Edit and it says the problem is HERE. Not sure what exactly is wrong with this. the lines look good but for some reason it looks like it's caused the CTD. I was wondering if anyone can figure out what I'm missing EDIT: Also, I'm well beyond this part because the line is at the beginning of the game. Plus I have the ASLAL (Alternate Starts Live Another Life) mod installed

Well I looked up the exception code in TES5Edit and it says the problem is HERE. ??? ???? ?????? ????????? ????????????????????? What you say??? Where you get that info??? Why you think the dialog line 000cd66b can generate a CTD??? The memory address of the CTD have none relation to the objects identification inside CK or Tes5Edit. I presume you have a constant and repeated CTD. If you analice 3 or 5 minidumps you can see that the addess of the CTD is diferent in each dump, and sometimes, not match with a objects identification. As i know, the dialog lines are computed ONLY when you start talk with any NPC. ONLY the mesh and textures from NPC's are computed when you make a change cell, because are necesary to show it to you when enter the zone. If you have CTD always in the same zone, like Morthal, is caused by a mod making incorrect things. Simply, disable mod's until the CTD disappear, and look for an updated version or a compatibility patch.
Heartbreaker714 Posted October 12, 2018 Author Posted October 12, 2018 I know. It didn't make sense that dialogue was causing the CTD that's reason why I am asking. That's why i said that and the pictures show where I got the info. It was my only clue why in a certain spot. And you are right about constant and repeated CTD. However, you're wrong about the minidumps The CTD address is exactly the same every single time, which I also thought was very weird. In fact, The crash dumps are exactly the same every single time. I had to verify a few times that I wasn't using uploading the same crash dump, but I wasn't So you're saying it's mesh and texture mods, right? If so, I'll start disabling mods involving textures/meshes. I have a feeling it's ETaC
Grey Cloud Posted October 12, 2018 Posted October 12, 2018 Ignore the crash dumps, they are worthless. Post your load order here (not on an external website).

Normally I do, I just thought (hoped), for once they would actually be helpful. lol When you say post load order here, do you mean don't use the modwatch link?

Either use the 'eye' next to the emoji icon above, or type [ spoiler ] (no spaces) Hit return then paste your load order. Hit return and type [ /spoiler ] (again, no spaces but with the forward slash).
Heartbreaker714 Posted October 13, 2018 Author Posted October 13, 2018 OK here you go Spoiler Edit: REMOVED
Heartbreaker714 Posted October 13, 2018 Author Posted October 13, 2018 Been working on this for over 12 hours but the CTDs have stopped when I go to Morthal. Here's what I did: Removed Regional Snow and Ice Mod Downloaded ETaC complete and installed it (removed the modular version) Re-installed Claralux, Noble Skyrim, and No Snow on Roof Removed 'Claralux.esp' from the merge patch i placed it in Removed 'Prometheus_No_snow_Under_the_roof.esp' (No Snow on Roof) from the merged patch I placed it in Re-ran DynDOLOD I hope this can help someone else. Not sure if just one or all of these things fixed the CTD but the game is running better than ever now.
Grey Cloud Posted October 13, 2018 Posted October 13, 2018 Is that your mods or your plug-ins? If it's your plug-ins then how many are there? Either way it is a complete mess. In no particular order: You have a mix of UNP and CBBE. too many 4k textures. too many mods doing the same thing too many armours too many redundant mods and the mind boggles at all those merges All in all a complete fuck up. You will never get that lot to run reliably. When trouble-shooting the key words are methodical and systematic. Don't be making changes willy-nilly as they pop into your head. My advice would be to do a lot of reading up on how to mod Skyrim; get yourself some self-restraint and common sense and get rid of most of those mods.
Heartbreaker714 Posted October 13, 2018 Author Posted October 13, 2018 Ok, I asked here because 1) I thought the Crash Dump, for once, was pointing me in the right direction for once (which I was wrong about) and 2) I wanted to be pointed in the right direction, which Genio did in the first post on this thread in letting me know it was a mesh hence me doing the things I did in my last post to fix it. @GreyCloud please know I appreciate all your help when I need troubleshooting. However, I've already had this discussion about the number of mods I use Here in which I was actually credited for making this experiment work. It was, and now is, working reliably at 60 FPS. I added the No Snow On Roof (I just did a little more research and found out the problem was in mesh Form ID 0x72617) which was causing the error I mentioned here. So you're correct about 'adding mods willy-nilly' and I won't add anymore to see if this experiment works and I can complete a full game. I know you guys are probably so frustrated with the questions we ask here but just answer them or if you're frustrated and are going to be rude, don't answer them. Again, I truly appreciate the help whenever you give it, but the other people who post and myself don't need the attitude and extra editorial. We need mod help, not life coaching. We don't need to be made to feel like we are stupid. It makes it difficult to even want to ask, and that's a shame.

Okay, so that was a month ago and now you are back in the tech support forum. It's all working really well then? A lot of your 4k textures are a waste of resources unless you are going to stand and stare at them. And how fantabulous do these textures appear at night or in a snow storm? Unless you take extra steps, only one mod's set of, say, iron armour will show up in game. You've removed your list so I can't name the redundant mods. Though I was going to mention this which Genio appears to have also spotted: +Realistic Ragdolls and Force (Reduced) - Plugin +Realistic Ragdolls and Force - Creature Only Ragdolls +Realistic Ragdolls and Force - Increase Fall Damage Realistic Ragdolls are now INCLUDED in the new XPMSE and are not need. Not that you took any notice. I'm guessing that if you have solved your current problem then another problem will manifest itself somewhere else, sometime soon.
Heartbreaker714 Posted October 14, 2018 Author Posted October 14, 2018 Speaking of not taking notice of things: 7 hours ago, Heartbreaker714 said: I added the No Snow On Roof (I just did a little more research and found out the problem was in mesh Form ID 0x72617) which was causing the error I mentioned here. So to answer your question: 6 hours ago, Grey Cloud said: Okay, so that was a month ago and now you are back in the tech support forum. It's all working really well then? Yes! For the record, Realistic Ragdolls was removed after Genio told me to do so. And while I need to do some of the other things Genio listed, if another issue arises, I'll handle it. And you're missing my point, which was if you're going to answer our help questions, then do it without the attitude. No one needs you or anyone else to be rude when they are reaching out for help. EDIT: In any event, the issue is solved. Thanks for the help and direction in solving it.
Heartbreaker714 Posted February 8, 2019 Author Posted February 8, 2019 Just wanted to leave an update: I was going to come back to "eat crow" if I had been wrong, but I've just completed my 3rd successful play-through and no mysterious crashes.
