Guest Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 **ATTENTION!** Now I just thought about this, how about we also make a list for unreleased or mentioned games that we want to be made! And a list of ideas that we want put into games!
gregathit Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 For those who care, Rage on steam is available for pre-loading! The game weighs in as a 21.5 gig download on steam so it will take a bit to grab it! I for one am hopeful that it will be decent - at least enough to tide me over until Skyrim comes out - Heaven help them if they don't make the 11-11 date!!!!!
HanPL Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 Im waiting for some reviews of RAGE don't have to buy pig in a poke Also already ordered few more games... Skyrim..(well had to buy it ) Saint's Row 3 (I only hope it will work better than Saints 2 >.>)
gregathit Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 I hear ya on the pig in a poke, but after watching a demo of game play for Rage if it was even half as good as it looked I will enjoy it. Skyrim, of course I pre-ordered the moment (down to the second to be precise) it was available. Saint's Row - I never got into them. I also pre-ordered Serious Sam BFE - I am not sure that I can even explain why I have liked the Serious Sam Series..........I just do! I also am looking forward to the new Batman, which has been delayed for the PC. That doesn't bother me too much as it will be a good backup when I tire of Skyrim (they had better release that sucker on time if they know what is good for them!!!!!). Besides the price was right (free) for then batman as it came with my new video card!
HanPL Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 Huh Batman Arkham City Delayed ? I still see his going to be release in November on PC... Anyway this November gonna be awesome ^^ Skyrim Saint's Row 3 Batman Arkham City Assassin Creed Revaltions
gregathit Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 PC release of Arkham City was supposed to be October 18th (same as the other platforms). Yea, I don't think I will get much sleep in November............
HanPL Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 Well I don't really mind if PC version will come out in Novembver ^^ I pre ordered all those games but back to college so I probably play those games in December during Christmas break...
Guest ThatOne Posted October 3, 2011 Posted October 3, 2011 Being part of a community is a big plus when it comes to game availability. Waiting for: -Guildwars 2 -Skyrim - but not until there's a CS and some good mods available -Diablo 3 I just watched some video of trailer and dang does that look impressive! Btw have any you guys tried out RIFT? I've played RIFT - it's a decent game which you can burn a heck-load of time on, especially if you are playing in a group, however I do not recommend the game to anyone because... (spoiler used for wall of text) The game has many faults. I don't list all of them here, but I think I caught most of them. Note that many things listed here were fixed, but none of them matter. Scroll down to the last paragraph if you want to know why. -Mobs your level or lower are too easy, mobs three levels higher are nearly impossible to kill due to misses etc'. -Some areas have the low level mobs near the high level ones (like level 8 near level 17), which makes it oh-so-easy to die to a passing invasion group. -Lots of afkers result in a zone event, but of course there's no-one to help in it. This leads to constant failing in zone events. I know that this has been fixed by a game system that kicks afkers from the game. Players now have less than 5 minutes before being disconnected. -However, due to the fix zone events now nearly never start, making obtaining all the achievements very difficult. Also, zone events are the most fun thing one can do until level 50, and without them the game is rather boring. -Live events have horrendous writing. Then again, most of the quests do. -Being disconnected during PvP gives a dishonored debuff. Normally that's a good thing, but it also happens with server crashes. -PvP brackets are every 10 levels. Much like monsters, if you fight a player who's 5 levels above you, you haven't got much of a chance. -Low level areas are nearly empty, because everyone rushes off to reach level 50. The game has many attractions like mini-games and exploring achievements, but nobody bothers until he is super-geared. As a result, doing low-level dungeons as a group is nearly impossible. -Group quests aren't marked as such. When questing, always watch out because you might just find yourself face to face with an elite... -The main storyline hasn't got a level requirement, so you could potentially have a quest for level 12 followed by one for level 17 (that's how it was in the beta), which means you'll be torn to pieces. -Mobs are *ALL* faster than the player by default, and at the beta trying to run past resulted in an "Exposed" debuff which gave the player a -75% speed, effectively forcing the player to fight every single mob along the way (regardless of his\her level). -Aggressive mobs always caught aggro, even when the player was over ten levels above them. They didn't really pose a threat but it sure was annoying to have to kill everything just to get somewhere. Also, players get knocked off their mounts when attacked (so no, it's not a solution). -During the beta, certain crafts were useless; crafted weapons and armor were never as powerful as ones looted from a dungeon (even with ultra-rare materials, which had a high chance to fail and were extremely expensive). A player leveling up tailoring to the highest level, with plaques that allow him to obtain the best recipes, still couldn't find a job as a crafter (not even crafting for free). -There is one class at every patch which is stronger than all others (then next patch it's nerfed to hell). I think the only exception to this is the Sabateur - it was always powerful, before and after the nerfs it was a viable class I've constantly used for the three months during which I played. But none of that is the reason I won't play it. Each and every one of the defects above can easily be overcome with little effort. The thing that makes RIFT worse than all other games is the customer support and developer attitude. If I'm paying to play, the least I expect is to get replies to the support requests I send. Forget banning hackers and botters (which they don't do), forget fixing bugs and glitches - forget even correcting that mistake where you fall through the world (that was really funny, but also kind of annoying). All of that is moot if in the few times I need technical support I don't receive it. And I'm not the only one who had such bad experiences with the support.
gregathit Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 Well Rage unlocks for me in 30 minutes (CST - US) so I will be off playing it in a while. I will pop back in and give my thoughts on it tomorrow afternoon\evening. EDIT: Rage is unlocking......I am outta here!!! Have a great evening folks!!!
gregathit Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 Well, I have played 4+ hours of Rage and it has been fun. It is really just a graphically improved (not quite so cartooney) version of Borderlands. The main story either hasn't kicked in really or perhaps there isn't much of one. So far just go here and do this and come back to get your reward. Ordinarily this would turn me off but the way they are letting you approach it seems fun to me. Lots of mini-games that you can do to break up the fetch missions. Driving is kick ass but kinda hard with K&M. A controller for the driving portion would make good sense. Great explosions when you blow cars up! Seems the game takes place in Australia as all the bad guys have a down under accent. The whole thing feels like it is trying to reproduce a Mad Max type atmosphere. I am not sure at this point how much of the game I am through or how much remains but I am having a good time with it so far. Oh, and NOT ONE SINGLE CRASH so far. Gotta give them props on this aspect!

I think I might get it myself, OW games are the best.
HanPL Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 Well from what I saw most "Hot " topic about Rage is...terrible graphic and optimization + graphic problems in PC version (visible "stiches " on ground " [video=youtube]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mLuOtGwLnzQ&feature=player_embedded Metacritic gamers score... http://www.metacritic.com/game/pc/rage 3.3/10

I should probably get in for the 360 then. @gregathit : are you playing on the pc? If so, do you et those kinds of problems?
Jerbsinator Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 -Diablo 3 -Skyrim (I'm worried about this one though...I won't buy until I am thoroughly convinced) -Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword -Battlefield 3 (though I won't buy at launch, since I suck at multiplayer FPS games...plus, fuck EA) -The Witcher 2 probably more but those are the main ones I can think of...at least the ones I would be willing to pay money for.
gregathit Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 Yep, I am playing on the pc but have had ZERO problems. To be fair I do have a upper end system with a 560Ti superclocked video card. From the scuttlebutt I have heard most of the graphic problems were from ATI cards (they did get a patch out already to fix this but I don't know if it worked or not). What this game is: 1. Campy - in a fun borderlands kinda way (slight upgrade on graphics from borderlands) 2. Main plot is....well.....there. No real intensity or suspense. 3. A lot of go hear and kill these guys and pick this up and come back. 4. The enemies don't run straight at you - they jump and juke and weave. 5. Boss fights are dumb. The try to force you into using a particular weapon at a particular part of the anatomy at a particular time. Annoying to say the least. 6. Silly fun - from driving cars (either in races or to and from getting things/killing folks) to ammo/item crafting, to putting the hurt on some bad guys (who mostly come in three flavors 1. melee types 2. ranged - these guys make fairly good use of cover and damn them they will throw grenades by the butt load at you, 3. Semi boss types - either have shields or mini-guns). What this game is NOT: 1. It ain't fallout! There is no sandbox!!! It is a rather linear game with almost no deviations or choices on how you accomplish things. 2. Not terribly long - I have heard it comes in at around 12 hours or so. I have spent 9 hours myself thus far I will update this when I finish my game. 3. Not something you will want to immediately want to replay. My verdict - if you have 60 bucks burning a hole in your pocket and you want a game that doesn't take itself too seriously then go ahead and get it. Otherwise wait until it comes down to 20 bucks or so and purchase it.

HanPL Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 @Jerbsinator You still don't bought The Witcher 2 ?! *Traitor Traitor KABOOOM * And about Rage I watched some gameplays and I had weird Deja Vu from Borderlands... and since I finished Borderlands GOTY not so long ago..I think I will pass on rage for now. O yea and AC Revelations delayed till 2 December >.>
Mailamea Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 AC delayed to Dec 2!!!!!!!!?????? NOOOOOOOOOOOO!
EvenstarGW Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 I'm kinda picky about the characters I like to play. I played a few minutes of The Witcher, but being forced to play the creepy looking white haired dude put me off. Same thing with Two Worlds. I didn't mind the gameplay, but being forced to play a male character didn't improve the experience.
Guest Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 Do you guys think I should play the first Witcher (enhanced edition of course) before playing the second one? Is the first one good?
Jerbsinator Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 Do you guys think I should play the first Witcher (enhanced edition of course) before playing the second one? Is the first one good? The first one is pretty fun, though the voice acting is terrible at times and the graphics are definitely dated. It's still a great game though.
HanPL Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 Knowing first part is not required to enjoy The Witcher 2 But if you play TW1 you will understand few easter eggs in TW2 ^^ @EvenstarGW Geralt was taken to Kaer Morhen when he was little baby trained there to be perfect monster killing machine, most of his "creepy " appearance was caused by drinking mutagen potions to make Witchers stronger/faster than average humans. + all scars he have are "emblems " of his fight with monsters And well Sapkowski created detailed portrait of Geralt in noves so It would be hard to add rpg character maker to that kind of game

I hate being the one who doesn't get a joke. Me personally, I Geralt looks pretty badass, especially in the Witcher 2. He'd look to perfect and clean without the scars (it wouldn't make sense if he had none based on what he does). He also has the ability to get fucking laid by any female he sees, human or non human.
