Kashiwaba Tomoe Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 SO yeah here's my idea for a new board: The "Debate" board. Basically a place to post contentious issues, but with strict rules. If someone refuses to stay factual, evaluate links/evidence/etc someone posts refuting them, etc, they get blocked from the board for a period of time. This would allow people to discuss things in a freindly manner, but would have rules setup to actually cause moderators to moderate rather than just locking. Also, contentious threads in other boards could be moved there as well.

There just is not enough interest from members to warrant it. The off topic thread is for now the best place to keep this stuff. Feel free to post away as long as you and others remember to follow the few simple forum rules we have. If someone is not then just hit the report button and let the moderators deal with it\them. Creating a subforum is not going to change that. Besides we should have a normal Oblivion Technical Support forum before that and not one attached to Lovers with PK

Considering how making a subboard would take less than a minute, it does not exactly seem reasonable, considering the current boards do not work for more contentious issues if two people arguing kills the thread, and such a board would isolate such conversation, further improving the boards as a whole.

[/quote'] No it wouldn't your just taking a issue and placing it somewhere else. It would be like taking a fire from a school and putting it in a community centre. The fire is still a issue regardless of where it is.

Really, it wouldnt be that hard, as the knuckleheads unable to deal with loosing a point in a debate would rather quickly get locked out of the subfourm, ending much of the issue, especially since even some moderators have been part of the problem (in posting, not in locking) Still no point, by replying to a post or thread you effectively start a discussion or debate.
