syfjhz22 Posted August 4, 2018 Posted August 4, 2018 Hi, I'm trying to mod an armor which seems to have transparent mesh, not controlled by texture alpha channel greyscale and NiAlphaProperty. In 3DS Max it looks like this: This makes me think that mesh material is somehow transparent. How is this achieved? How can I remove this transparency? Thanks!

Those "transparent" parts sure remind me of collision segments... On the other hand, I may have SMP On The Brain, a rare and incurable tropical disease caused by struggling for more than 30 days straight with the same recalcitrant SMP outfit, trying to get it to stop stretching to infinity...
Andy14 Posted August 4, 2018 Posted August 4, 2018 The mesh is not normalized. Flip the faces/normals in ths area.
syfjhz22 Posted August 4, 2018 Author Posted August 4, 2018 FYI, the original armor is perfectly functional, transparent as intended. I just don't know how the author achieved transprancy seemingly through mesh...
wishnot4 Posted August 4, 2018 Posted August 4, 2018 They did it how Andy14 said, they have the normals flipped inward.
syfjhz22 Posted August 4, 2018 Author Posted August 4, 2018 Should have tried it before hitting reply button... Thanks a lot!
Andy14 Posted August 4, 2018 Posted August 4, 2018 If it is intended and involves a mesh (not part of the mesh), then it is probably the alpha setting in the BSLightingShaderProperty - 2 lines about glossiness. Default is 1 (no alpha) to 0 (completely transparent)
