Can you make a bad bashed patch?

Recommended Posts

Yes, It is possible to do so. I learned that the hard way.

1. If you use the SkyProc Patches, you MUST deactivate the generated files, like Patchus Maximus.esp, ASIS.esp and Automatic Variants.esp, before rebuilding the bashed patch. Otherwise the menu of Skyrim might never stop loading. Don't forget to reactivate them again, ;) after you rebuilt the patch.

2. If you use merged .ghost fiiles, because you use more than 255 mods, and decided to use one big patch instead you need to sort those .ghost files at their correct load order positions, before rebuilding the patch, Wrye bash does that NOT for you. So load "LOOT", look there the files should be, and put them in Wrye bash manually at those positions, then rebuild the patch. If you don't do this, the changes from these merged fix files will be missing your game. Yes, I know that is a pain in the ass, but you need to do that.
