Hand/Feet seam driving me nuts!

Recommended Posts

Hey all,

Having a small issue with my character, she's using the custom Ningheim race. I can't figure out how to get rid of the small seams on the hands and feet. I've tried generating new ones in Bodyslide but did not work.

Here's a couple of screenshots.

Here's my current load order.

BUMP

Still haven't solved this issue, have tried reinstalling multiple texture mods with no success...

Should I try doing a fresh install of skyrim and my mods? I did have CBBE installed previously, but decided to switch to UNP because it's just so much better in my opinion. COuld that be the cause of this seam issue? I only have it on hands/feet. The neck is totally fine.

I see a MESH problem in your screenshots.. not appear texture problem.

When the problem is texture you have only different color, but when have a jump like that is a MESH problem probably caused by mix the two body types, CBBE and UNP.

The character is made in four parts, head, body, hands and feet. Appear that you have cbbe hands and feet mixed with unp body and head, for that the jump.

Be sure you have un-installed all the CBBE mods and re-install the UNP body.

I ended up doing a fresh install of Skyrim and all mods. Definitely sure I don't have any CBBE mods installed. Strange though because the issue is still present.

Check if you have the problem in the NAKED body. Remove armor, jewelry, tats ... all items equipped, and be sure you remove the TATS.

If the problem disappears it is an ARMOR problem and your body is good.

For example, I see Remodeled Armor - Vanilla Replacer.esp in your loading order. Are cbbe and unp versions and do not specify the version in the name of the esp in the loading order. Make sure you have the correct version.

The same for other mod's like TheCoenaculiCBBE .esp = 1 and this is called CBBE. Probably your problem come from this mod as show in your screenshots.

All equip as armor, jevelery, tats ... normally have the mesh included in its interior, then, when equipped, the corresponding part of the mesh is removed or hidden and shows the mesh included with the armor or tat that can make appear this problem.

Yup I tried doing that and it was still messed up. I just did a switch back to CBBE and and it's pretty much perfect now. With all the clothing and tats as well as naked. I really think it's the fact that XPMSE and the UNP body for the Ningheim race just don't seem to work well. I really tried to make it work with UNP but no luck. I tried to correct the skeleton pathways in tes5edit and it kinda worked but it still looked really weird and still had hand/feet seams.

You wouldn't actually happen to know any other race mods that work well with UNP and XPMSE?

XPMSE has none to make in your problem because is only skeleton and i think is the same for cbbe and unp. Skeleton problems are diferent as your problem.

I doubt problems in the race for the big lots of download from nexus, but all is posible. Look the web page.

If all work good in your machine with cbbe but have seam when install the unp version is evident that some parts of the body are not installed correctly or collide with any other part installed in your machine. Maybe you have touch bad things with tes5edit or you have some bad files inside your SKYRIM\DATA\MESH that come from a manual operation or a bad un-installed mod. My NMM crash some times years ago and give me some problems like that.

I not have a powerfull machine and i use cbbe body. UNP body is more detailed, have more poligons and look better if you have enougth machine but give more problems because have more versions. Maybe your base body not match with the body version that you are instaling from the mod.

For example, UNP is not exactly the same as UNPB, the two versions show in the mod page, and is not the same as UUNP that is the body type normaly used in unp installations. Maybe your collision is for that.

It will happen if, say, you have different varities of UNP involved - e.g. UUNP Special body but regular UNP feet or hands. This is easily repaired in Bodyslide.

Could be the tats. Have you tried without the tats?

Teorically is too easy correct it whit bodyslide, as i remember.

Only must open bodyslide and select your body type in the SECOND dropdow.

Then select your body in the FIRST dropdow and click build.

Next select your hands in the FIRST dropdow and click build.

Last select your feets in the FIRST dropdow and click build.

That must correct the gap with hands and feet.

Of course, this operation change the player character BODY, and you must select the CORRECT body. If you fail you can get un-desired ressults, but is too easy let the bodyslide open, open your game and test it. If not like the results, simply select other body type and try again. In last option, always can re-install your body mod for correct it.

Your game must be closed, or at least, in the main menu, for the game get and render the new body type. The game no change it in the fly while the game is running. Of course, remove all equip for see the result in NUDE body, without armor or TATS.

Additionally, when you change the PC body with bodyslide, some armors can not fit the new body and you can see big diferences from nude body to armor body. That is solved making a batch build of yours armor's with bodyslide.

First, I've just realised that it is a custom race. I haven't used the Ningheim race for a couple of years but it should be good out of the box. If you are using UNP did you download the UNP version?

Anyway to get body, hands and feet on the same page. I use UUNP Special so:

Bodyslide1.thumb.jpg.9b3908c09f42ac7d3e18330f18ab5292.jpg

That was the UUNP Special body, I now choose the UUNP Special hands option from this drop down:

Bodyslide.thumb.jpg.8d2d7b3e6f0349bf27873b843eb2c51a.jpg

Then I do the same for feet. You would obviously choose the 3 you use.

Check the 'Build Morphs' box in the bottom left there.

I don't know much about this side of things, in fact that about exhausts my knowledge of BS.

SOLVED:  This worked for me.  I had been building a body in bodyslide but not building the hands and feet for that UUNP body.  This meant the game was attaching the nearest generic part it accessed.  I got rid of the seams after I built hands and feet for the body as suggested above.

When all else fails LL provides a solution.
