Reginald_001 Posted June 24, 2018 Posted June 24, 2018 Sometimes you get so absorbed in a game, tv show or movie that you start dreaming about them. In this thread you can share the game, show or movie that came back to you in your dreams. Don't be shy and don't be ashamed about it.. I think everyone does this and everyone has silly dreams. Since I like sharing my weird and momentous dreams, here's mine. All of these happened years ago, but they all stuck with me as real memories due to them being so real and eventful at the time. Doom 3. When I first got Doom 3 I had about a 6 hour game session, non stop running through dark corridors. For months after that night I had nightmares about it. Always the same ones.. I'd be part of an engineering team, sent down into some kind of research facility. Once I went in, the rest of the team was gone and I was alone, no weapons, no nothing, just the real me. The base was just like in the game, but much more real and much more gritty. Real full color dream stuff. Pinkies and other demons would hunt me while I was running around, always going deeper and deeper into the base, knowing that with each step I'd be further from ever getting out. I usually woke up in sweat, my ex wife worried w.t.f. was going on. They weren't nightmares as much as they were more action games in my dreams... I kept playing Doom 3 for years on end, loved it to death, I think partly due to the nightmares. Star Trek Next Generation. I'd binged the entire show, 5 ep's each night. One night I dreamed I was calling my friend to explain that I had become a robot like Data. I remember vividly looking at machinery in my arm, but it was somehow melted with my flesh. I remember being scared to death in the dream, realizing the reality of actually being some kind of robot completely freaked me out. My friend tried to calm me down so he told me to 'Follow Picard'. Then I was at the bottom of some kind of ravine. And I was Picard, climbing up the rock, the crew behind me as I was climbing up. The dream happened for a couple of weeks, on and off. Always the same and always very realistic. The Matrix. I basically dreamed I was Neo for months.. nah.. years on end after watching the first Matrix. In each dream I was convinced that my 'real life' was just fake (ak. The Matrix) and in my dreams I was real and awoke. Then I would 'enter the matrix' (My real life) in my dreams. It was very fucked up stuff. Then in my real life I would have these huge vivid kung-fu fights, so vivid that sometimes I woke up convinced I was a Kung-Fu master (which of course I'm not). The dreams eventually became less but for years they sporadically returned.. and came in many forms. I remember one very particularly, after the second one came out, where I fought hundreds of guys. They were never scary, always filled with manga like action. Pretty vivid and weird epic memorable stuff. I guess all of these had some kind of big impact on me, if I dreamed so much about them. Which movies or games did you dream about?
Ernest Lemmingway Posted June 24, 2018 Posted June 24, 2018 I keep having weird dreams about playing Metroid in 2-D. Visiting areas that don't even exist in any of the games with a pseudo-biological architecture, pursuing...something. An item, a weapon, whatever is needed to access other areas. I wish I could recall specifics, but after so many years they've begun to blur together.
shadowlord445 Posted June 24, 2018 Posted June 24, 2018 I had several dreams about Deadly Premonition when I was playing it.
serPomiz Posted June 25, 2018 Posted June 25, 2018 I find myself wanting for turn based RPG adaptation of unrelated franchise pretty often actually (must be the growing up with final fantasy and pokemon) take for example sonic chronicle. nothing overwelmingly incredible, but still a pretty solid game that did exactly that

Unless you literally dreamed in your sleep about turn based games, or had turn based dreams.. which would be pretty interesting.
SpinX Posted June 25, 2018 Posted June 25, 2018 PUBG It wasn't a dream it was a nigthmare. I didn't know it was a game and It was scary as fuck. I killed people with my bare hands and just moving inside a building or from a building to another took me ages because I was so careful. Last few players were in the same building and I don't know what happened but we became friends and I just don't remember the rest.
wokking56 Posted June 25, 2018 Posted June 25, 2018 Years ago I watched the Super Mario Brothers movie and then out of a sense of nostalgia player several hours of Super Mario Brothers 3. Two nights later I dreamed I was in the mushroom world (a more movie based version). Also after watching Conan the Barbarian I dreamed about that as well . I am sure there are others but that is all that comes to mind right now.
Di3sIrae Posted June 25, 2018 Posted June 25, 2018 Wow, i can't remember most of my dreams, most of them are from a long time ago. But back then, i know i used to dream that i was wandering somewhere with Duke Nukem aliens chasing me. Nothing more than that, just simple things. I know i already dreamt about some games, but my mind won't allow me to bring anything to the surface right now. I wish i could remember them more
Guest Posted June 26, 2018 Posted June 26, 2018 I have a decent number of recurring dreams about Arma III, Weird enough I guess. Most of the time it ends up being a scenario that the zeus had crafted in a series of missions or perhaps a certain part of a campaign. Some of the moments are silly and nonsensical like camping out somewhere in Chernarus, Sahrani, or Altis. These would be the most common maps that we would be on. These are peaceful, nobody says a word. We just sit there in the faint glow of dusk around our fire and wait, for what exactly I am unsure. But, They're just so calm, I feel at ease. The others are either walking, flying, or driving wherever I'm needed to be. Then the fighting ensues typically out in the fields, woods, or urban areas. Never seems to be a clear target or adversary in most cases, just simply shooting at whatever fuzzy apparition comes within my cross hairs or iron sights. Ducking between cover, clearing buildings, and fighting street to street become incredibly intense. This is the point where the figures cease being fuzzy and end up having distinguishable features, Usually figure out at that point just who exactly I'm fighting. Sometimes it's an organized military outfit and other times it's a band of shaky and terrified rebels that took up arms for whatever reason. Usually killing them feels no different than the others. Sometimes I remember faces, but it's confusing to think about. Are these people I've seen before or are they just conjured by my subconscious mind in the heat of the moment? A good portion of the time I sustain serious injuries from shrapnel or enemy fire. These are usually the times I'm alone, wounded and crawling to safety somewhere. A lot of the time I die. I never wake up from them in a cold sweat, I just sleep as soundly as any other night. Could swear I've felt pain from a few of them, but I'm not sure if that's just another hallucination within the dream itself. On another strange note about half the time one of these ends, either abruptly or from my own demise my mind will usually just begin another dream. My sleeping mind is a weird place. It's not always these kinds of dreams, but they're pretty frequent. Practically filled up my dream journal at this point with just these.
