Inferus Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 I mean, is there any mod or is there someone who could try to do that? Skyrim faces(especially for men, aww) are just flawless while the Oblivion ones... Well, not as much. I mean, I think I've checked every face/hair mod in the tesnexus site and there was practicaly no mod which would actually make a good job with changing faces. The only mod I found that makes faces at least bit prettier is XEO, which unfortunately has a lot of other "features" I actually hate(like new argonians). So, have anyone tried making something like that? Skyrim faces to Oblivion?

Modded Skyrim Faces much more immersion and beauty. Modded Oblivion Faces less immersion, so beautiful. Some anime-ish. Hmmmmm. If there is a skyrim version of face change exchange we can test what happens when skyrim data gets ported to oblivion. Like fallout to oblivion face. Or the other way around.
Inferus Posted October 4, 2012 Author Posted October 4, 2012 Hmmmmm. If there is a skyrim version of face change exchange we can test what happens when skyrim data gets ported to oblivion. Like fallout to oblivion face. Or the other way around. I haven't found any Skyrim version of the Face Exchanger' date=' but a guide. I'm not sure if it'll help but here it is: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/2342 Also, I have both Oblivion and Skyrim and can provide the headmeshes if needed. I've never unpacked anything from Skyrim's files but hey, there's always the first time. This won't be possible. That's what I'm most afraid of. I wouldn't be surprised if it was impossible as Skyrim and Oblivion faces look completely different. But in this case maybe it is possible to alter the default Oblivion head mesh to resemble the one in Skyrim? As far as I know it is possible to change the default head mesh of every race so maybe it can be done.
GrimReaper Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 Skyrim uses another way to generate faces than Oblivion did. In Oblivion you modify the whole head with the sliders, in Skyrim you select what preset nose, mouth and eyes you want and then you can modify them to your liking, but not that much. You can ofc edit any headmesh for Oblivion, but that require knowledge and skill that would be considered sorcery by most. As soon as you alter only ONE vertice in a headmesh, you have to redo the entire .tri file that belongs to the mesh. And that's done by extracting certain values from the head mesh and integrate them via a hex-editor in the .tri file. Or something like that. There is a tutorial on the nexus, you can give it a shot: http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/18566 May cause your head to explode, though.
Ark of Truth Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 This won't be possible. Skyrim uses a completely different graphics engine which Oblivion won't be even able to handle. You can't just go "oh I'm gonna import this into Oblivion" because any graphics will most likely not work.
Inferus Posted October 6, 2012 Author Posted October 6, 2012 I understand. Oh well, then I must just bear with fugly faces. Or do the homework from GrimReaper's post. Both sound difficult though.
Risray Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 It's not impossible, just way more work than it's actually worth...
Lucherenren Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 You'd better off working with what you have, in the end -- of course, it may quite a bit easier to achieve good results if you go beyond "vanilla" Oblivion. Skyrim's engine sets the two games apart in this respect.
chakaru11 Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 You can't just go "oh I'm gonna import this into Oblivion" because any graphics will most likely not work. Excuse my language, but thats a load of bull. You can port basically anything you want from Skyrim to Oblivion (believe me, I've done my share of that), without FPS drops or anything. The only annoying issue are the _m texture maps, which Oblivion can't really support bug free. But a few simple edits, and armors, weapons, hairs, etc. work like a charm after being converted to Oblivion. The graphics engine has nothing to do with the meshes. But, and that is true, the way Skyrim generates faces is too different from Oblivion to make this work. FaceExchange works with the values from Oblivion Facegen, which is not used in Skyrim, so basically when it comes to character creation, Oblivion and Skyrim speak two different languages. On the other hand: It should be possible to port Skyrim head meshes over to Oblivion. I mean heck, it's been done with Final Fantasy 13 heads, Vindictus heads, Tera heads... the easiest way would be to import them as helmets... mhmm...
Emily Posted October 29, 2012 Posted October 29, 2012 Try the current Beard and Mustache mod. it'll make the male more appealing and closer to skyrim. ~ Don't forget the dragonborn iron helmet mod.
lampuiho Posted December 2, 2012 Posted December 2, 2012 been waiting for this... there are some mods I really like in Oblivion but not the head mesh and faces
razzor69 Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 I think this mod are close to skyrim races check it outhttp://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/43612/?
cyanide Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 To make male characters look good in Oblivion there are the beautiful head06 modifications by Robert from his resource pack: http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/40532/ IMO, looks better than Skyrim heads. Once there was a huge Beautiful People compilation by Flan and Max, with all these and other heads06 included, but I think the modification was abandoned by the authors, and is very rare.
AnnaFly Posted October 10, 2013 Posted October 10, 2013 Greetings Please , take a look at this , i think it(s not so bad : http://static2.nexusmods.com/101/mods/101/images/30140-1-1266891317.jpg from this mod : http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/30140 Cheers PS : you just need a well done facial texture , no need to "play " with the head meshes ... ...and what about this one ? http://static2.nexusmods.com/101/mods/101/images/25636-1-1246969719.JPG from : http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/25636/ .... this guy looks as a good friend of mine (left picture of course not the facegen .....) If i remember " Chuck Norris" in the DukeCity mod was well done too.
junkacc Posted October 10, 2013 Posted October 10, 2013 Oblivion faces > Skyrim Fallout3 faces > Skyrim Dog Vomit > Skyrim
E.L. Palmer Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 The Oblivion characters maybe goofy looking with child like faces, but they have a cheerful 'life' to them. They show emotions and the illusion of separate personalities. The 'horse head' High Elves and their slanted eyes could use a rework. The Redguard could also be reworked to look less like chimpanzees with giant lips [racist developers?]. I would take cheerful happy faces of Oblivion over the chiseled, bland, lifeless, emotionless, department store manikin like faces of Skyrim that looks like the next step up from vanilla Morrowind any day.
smolder Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 Just use the Oblivion Character Overhaul 2.0 mod off the nexus (if you can actually get on the nexus, it's up and down at the moment)The mod adds High Resolution textures to faces, eyes and a whole lot of other stuff, if anything, it looks better than Skyrim. But then again, everything looks better than Skyrim.
