If I type in showracemenu into the console and hit r it reverts back to normal temporarily. NazWeed Posted June 9, 2018 Author Posted June 9, 2018 My character's skin is supposed to be a lot lighter and I think I've had this issue for a while but just noticed it recently due to the armor blocking most of the character. Here's a before and after I opened up the showracemenu (not edits just opening it up and accepting my character). This isn't the best example as right here it only did the hair and not the skin color, but when it does do it it usually varies in degrees of severity from just a little darker to redguard skin color (not racist just pointing it out).

Andy14 Posted June 9, 2018 Posted June 9, 2018 Racemenu works because it reloads all settings. Completely new. Regardless of whether the game was able to load the files or (at best) cache them. Your problem is that NOT enough time is up to the 3Load to have loaded all the instances. These include normal textures, makeups, hairtints, tris (morphs) etc. Your character (or after NPC / Follower) is rendered before all needed resources are in RAM. Hints: 1: Defragment the HDD (if SDD, pointless). But not with Windows - it's not defragmentation. Use Auslogics or whatever. 2: Check your mods and check your papyrus.log. The log is not the ultimate report for your problem. But he gives (possibly) good hints. Badly programmed scripts, endless loops etc can cause your problem or CTD 3. The most important point: Check your mods. Only install mods you need. If the game is stable, install mods you also want - Step by Step.
Grey Cloud Posted June 9, 2018 Posted June 9, 2018 CBBE isn't your skin. CBBE is your body shape.? Your skin, if you have one installed, will be something like Leyenda, Fair Skin, etc. The reason I ask about VRAM is because I see a lot of things there which will eat into it*. So if you move into a new cell and everything has to load, then maybe your skin is losing out. * Anything which adds more this or that to Skyrim. e.g. OBIS, SkyTest. Things which add hdt, like cloaks. I would also look at all those SDO LOD esps. That's an old mod and even the author says there is better out there. I personally wouldn't use Pumping Iron or any mod which aims to dynamically change body shapes. The HighResTexture packs are not resource friendly. EDIT: You can pretty much ignore what Andy14 has said.

Is this affecting just your character or NPCs as well? Is your character a preset you downloaded or one you made yourself? Why has the guy in the screenshot got a satellite dish on his helmet? If it is affecting NPCs: Try running Skyrim Performance Monitor and keep an eye on your VRAM usage. See what happens in different places - Whiterun market during the daytime; somewhere medium-sized such as Riverwood or Falkreath; the middle of nowhere during the day. Try at night for comparison. If it's just your character have you tried a new game with a vanilla character?

Made myself IDK

If the problem is what you say then why is it only happening sometimes? And why sometimes the PC and sometimes NPCs? She is not getting black face etc, she is getting a discolouring or wrong colour.
