follower Create & Edit Copy of a Follower?

Hi there,

 

I was wondering if anyone knew of a good way to create a copy of a follower?

 

Basically, I'd like to take this follower and, with a little tweaking, create other characters from the Bible Black series. Edit hair/eyes/maybe voices/etc. - nothing that should be too complex. No change in face or body (Bible Black is basically all sameface...)

 

I tried opening things up in the Creation Kit, but I have zero experience with it. If there's a faster way, I'd love to know about it.

0. Make a backup copy of the original ESP, locate the FaceGenData folder in your Skyrim installation and copy the facegen mesh and texure from the folder related to the follower mod and copy it to the desktop

1. Open CK find your follower and duplicate it however many times needed.

2. Save the Esp

3. Export Face Gen of all the Duplicates NPCs (don't know how use this https://www.creationkit.com/index.php?title=Dark_Face_Bug)

4. Exit CK and locate all the new facegen data that was exported, will be in the folder named after the mod example Kaeori_Saeki.esp or something like that

5. Replace all the new facegen nifs and textures with copies of the original that are on the desktop and rename each one mirroring the ID that was exported from the CK

6. Relaunch CK and load the modified ESP, your dupes will now be using the copied original head (sometimes they may not look like it in the render window thats fine) and place them into the world.

7. Now you have to do the relationship/faction stuff so they can function as a follower, use the original NPC as a reference.

 

This is the simplest method of accomplish working duplicates using only CK work, everything else requires knowledge of TES5Edit and use of 3rd party tools

HOWEVER, if you are going to be making changes to each duplicate their faces are going to mess up. You can make changes to stats voice and whatever but any changes to the face will bug. You will then need to learn how to edit and make your own custom followers using ECE or RACEmenu using a preset of the original NPC in order to make them slightly different and still look acceptable. Learning how to use a tool called NPC NifMerge will also come in handy.
