VC Series - Subway Car v.1.0

So, this room has actually been languishing in development hell for a few months when I got bored about three-quarters of the way through and moved onto other projects. However, I finally decided to revisit the Subway Car and finish it off, and I have to say it's pretty good! I think the lighting could be improved, but lighting isn't really my thing, so if anyone cares to improve upon this, please, go right ahead!

Description

Anyway, welcome to the Subway Car, part of the Vice City (VC) Series, recreating the gritty feel of a city plagued by crime, riding a subway car through the tunnels that lie far beneath the mean streets of Vice City, a convienient way to cross the city by day, and a death-trap to the unwary by night...

Special Features

- Hook 5 Object Room - RM_248

- Compatiable with v.7.5 & VX

- ControlBall Compliant

- Speed Effect

- Subway Ambience Music

Scenes

Included are three different 'Scenes', each with it's own selection of objects:

- Crowded                    A packed commuter train slows down as it approaches the subway station.
- Empty                        An empty carriage late at night speeds up inbetween stations
- NotInService              Lights dimmed, an out of service train speeds through the tunnels

Requirements

The room consists entirely of Hook 5 objects, so needless to say, paid Hook 5 is pretty much obligatory. Everything you need is contained in the file, except for Siberia's Hook 5 object pack, the link to which I took the liberty of including in a text file. Naturally, I will take it down when if Modsgarden is eventually returned to us, but in the meantime...

Object Parenting & ControlBalls

Simply put, Object Parenting is the ability to move multiple Objects at the same time, and ControlBalls is the system put into place to do it. There's a lot more to it than that, but basically put, that's what it's all about. Whilst some objects have been grouped together to be moved more easily, Hook 5 Rooms take the most advantage of this system with the ability to be moved anywhere you like.

For further information on the subject, check out the picture card 'Using ControlBalls' in the main file, or there is a more detailed explanation in the Readme. Hopefully it will be able to answer any and all the questions you have about it, so be sure to check it out!

Acknowledgements

All those on ModsGarden who contributed to the porting of objects which formed such a fundamental basis of my rooms. I can't remember your forum handles, but you know who you are, and you have my thanks.

That's All Folks!

Any other details are in the Readme in the file. Well, I hope you have as much fun using the room as I did in creating it. Enjoy!

For me chosing options loc2 or loc3 on the 3 different options makes no change, what is supposed to change? Only changing between loc1 options changes anything.

Okay, so initially, they are going to be in exactly the same location. But the idea is to recreate the 'location' aspect of a normal room, so if you look at the readme on how to use the ControlBall system, moving the Tier 3 Controlball will move the entire room, and if you then save the level on the Hook 5 menu, it will save the room in it's new 'location'. In this way you can move the room to suit you, rather than be constrained by set 'locations' in a normal room. Let me know how you get on!
