It's seriously bothering to see that the media in general are always more for wars than against it. Well, they know they won't be the ones sent to fight I suppose ... who cares for million people dying for wrong reasons as long as we can make nice reports on CNN?

I understand that media and journalist aren't always angels, and sometimes not even accurate. But there are some of them who risk their lifes to inform the masses, as they know that a vote bulletin, or a manifestation can change more things than they just jumping out to help and getting immediately killed. And french ones aren't among the lesser of those, specially considering how muted and controlled media can get... in countries such as Russia, or China.

Second point, have you seen, of your own eyes someone having fled from the slaughters happening in Syria ? Heard them tell you about how the entire Alep city got erased, about hundreds of thousands of people fleeing their very own leaders ? I have. And thanks to medias, you can also be aware of what's going on here. Of what the russian leaders allowed to Bachar el-Assad. Russian leaders aren't trolls : they're cold blooded murderers. Guys able to urinate on UNO just to tell them afterwards that it's just the rain. Americans choices are questionable (specially since Trump's election), but to support russian current international policy seems even more unbelievable to me.

Actually I'm not taking sides here (in fact I nearly never do on the internet). If you reread what I wrote I just point out the role of the mass media who tend to pour oil on the flame and fuel the hate between different people.

I simply find it sad that the epitome of "information" nowadays is calling for war whenever any spark arise.

I think people who created the first newspapers had different ideals.

You're certainly right. But at least, we live in a country where people can have journalists who have ideals and the right to express them, as wrong as they might be. Pluralism and freedom of expression have their flaws, but it's still better than not having them at all if you see what I mean.

Anyway, I'm glad you're not taking sides. Politics are so depressing today, and usually your blog is a good tool to forget about them.

Media has changed over the years, but with money involved or state run media what is the truth? Well basically don't stick to one source. See if others match up and then question why. I hope we will teach this in the future with the way we get news now.
