Chapter 15-A Troubling Truth
Stuck in Coldharbour or some realm of oblivion. Sounded something straight out of a story, I wish it had been a story. I was imprisoned here, for as long as Molag decreed. I admit, this was one of the first times I was scared, I mean I was the one who scared people. I don't know how long I've been here, it feels like days, weeks maybe. Stuck in the room, where my father's coffin was laid.
Shea: Damn, this is one of the times I actually wish I knew a few songs. Maybe I might not die of boredom, well the boredom between torture and whatever else Molag wanted me for.
Shea: I've changed too, markings were becoming apparent. C'mon could you not just let me go?
Demon: I'd love to, Molag wishes a word with you, well many words, maybe something else, not that I care. Now get up!
We both navigated around the weaving corridors of...wherever we were until we reached an altar. I was quickly left behind as the demon left my sight disappearing from seemingly everything.
Shea: Lord Molag, I was expecting you in person, admittedly I'm a little disappointed. Especially since you're supposed to be the Lord of Domination.
Molag Bal: Silence slave! Being the Lord of Coldharbour is a tedious job, I'm sure you would know that best of all. Especially with the amount of time I've spent with you. I must say you've changed, and that suits my purpose perfectly.
Shea: So what would the Lord of Domination need of me, just another of his offspring?
Molag Bal: Something that will force you to change. You'll awake soon, alas I can't keep you in this place forever. I need something I never took from you. Your soul.
Shea: Aah! You...didn't...say that...this would...hurt...so...
A few hours later...
Shea: What a strange night, reminds me of something a while back, when I was in Whiterun. When I was woken by that, Joanna, I think That was her name.
Shea: Yet everything I remember has stayed, the markings, the small scars. Had I really been taken, or was Molag Bal more powerful than I thought. It was probably the latter, he was a Daedric Lord after all.
Shea: Well, moping about in my room isn't going to help my situation. I may as well get my job done here and get back to Sofia.
Shea: My Lady, I don't think you understand your situation. If the Queen accuses you of these killings, she'll bring thirty thousand mercenaries here to slaughter you all. And I'll be forced to help them. So, you can help me, or you can help me give the Queen a reason to mount your head on a spike. It's your choice.
Rosa: Well, I believe my lady has changed her opinion. She'll help you as best she can.
Shea: Glad to hear that, I think we might have got off on the wrong foot. So you'll help me in exchange for me not killing you...seems like a fair offer.
Orianna: I'd say it's a good offer, most definitely. So you were here for-...wait what are those markings under your eyes?
Shea: Honestly, I have no idea. I just went to sleep and they appeared I suppose. But I digress, I was here to investigate the dead vampires found in your lands. But if you want to change the topic I'm sure the Queen would be happy for me to bring her a hand or something of the like.
Orianna: Fine I get your point, Bella's waiting outside for you, she's leading the investigation so far.
Shea: Fine, but you could've just told me straight away.
Orianna: Well you didn't ask. Anyway it doesn't matter, you should get your investigation started, otherwise I fear the Queen may get impatient and put both our heads on spikes.
A few minutes later...
Bella: Finally, you took your time. Especially since you went on about how it needed to be done 'quickly' otherwise the Queen would have our head on spikes.
Shea: Well in case you didn't notice, I needed some rest and now I have markings all over me. So I've had a difficult night and you're busy chiding me for it. Maybe it would be worth it to kill you.
Bella: Fine, fine. Gods you're the worst for general banter.
Shea: I'm bad at banter, and besides what's the point in it. I came here to do a job, not to talk. So tell me all you know about the situation.
A few minutes later...
Shea: So Orianna orchestrated the kills, I knew I shouldn't have trusted that bitch. Right, I'm going to need help getting rid of her.
Bella: Well I'll gladly help, she almost started a civil war between vampires, and they are bloody. I'll gather any who will definitely support us. Then I say we march to the throne room, and stop her. Trust me, we'll catch her by surprise.
Shea: Well I'll get into something more appropriate for fighting, I fear there will be one. I'll meet you at midnight at the gates.
A few moments later...
Bella: I know where my loyalties lie. It isn't with the Queen or her new pet. Too bad her pet has a quick temper and a slow mind.
At midnight...
Shea: Well what could possibly go wrong, assaulting someone in their own home, I hope it's a surprise, I'd love to see the look on her face.
Orianna: I must say you're here sooner than expected, I thought your investigation might've taken you...elsewhere.
Shea: In the name of Queen Esmeralda of Raven Castle, I sentence you to death, for the betrayal of your own kind. What say you in your defence?
Bella: I say good luck, my loyalties can't be given to some Queen half a world away. Everyone here, has come to end you. Or to capture you at least. Sorry, it's nothing personal, it's just business.
Shea: Well at least I know whose head I'm going to cut off first.
I quickly weaved to my enemies, bringing upon them a swift and painful end, no matter what I did, I knew they would all die by my hand, no matter how hard they fought, or how honestly they begged.
But, too many fires and even water can't put it out. Most were fallen, but I was close to falling as well, despite what I would like to believe.
Shea: You need...better soldiers.
Orianna: I'd believe otherwise. The best swordsman in Tamriel, beaten by a bunch of vampires who didn't like their ruler. A nice and poetic twist. You chose the wrong side of the fight. A shame really.
Shea: At least I stay loyal, you two siding...bitch..."
Rosa: Shh. Don't talk to your captor that way, you don't want us to torture you as well as humiliate you.
Bella: That's a very good point sister, now we just have to hope Ilda gets to Raven Castle quick enough for the other vampires to not find out about this.
Orianna: Well, lets get to work then, planning a civil war seems to be quite difficult.
