Start of Chapter 7

 

That night at the inn was something magical, something I'd never forget in a hundred years, but we couldn't stay there another day, or two. We had to get to Bruma tonight if we were to afford any food for the next few days. So we left our room in the morning, it was nearly midday by the time we exited the inn, but Joanna insisted we could get to Bruma by the evening.

 

"We should be able to see the chapel in Bruma once we're through this damned forest." Joanna explained as we emerged into the cold winds of the Jerall Mountains.

 

 

"Good I'm tired of travelling, especially in the cold like this. I mean last night was warmer, but that doesn't make a difference outside." I explained as I quickly began to shiver from the cold. We vampires felt the cold, it just didn't harm us.

 

 

"Speaking of last night, you were really cold like ice really, are you sure you're human?" She asked, she laughed a little but there was a degree of curiosity in her voice, that almost forced me to answer.

"Was I?" I said avoiding the question with a wide berth. It was a good job, most people hated us, even more so in Cyrodil. Joanna gave me a terrifying stare, but quickly loosened up when she saw I wasn't going to answer.

 

 

"Well we may as well get going, we won't just appear there, will we?" Joanna complained as we finally began to make our way down the path south to Bruma.

 

 

 

 

We stayed on the path for a few hours, the forest was harrowingly empty and howls from timber wolves bounced off the trees and leaves. Then I saw something on the path ahead of us, it was huge and a corpse, it must've been what I could smell a mile away.

"What on Nirn is this?" I asked, I hadn't been to Cyrodil before so everything here was strange and completely new to me.

 

 

"It's an ogre Shea, you really haven't been many places have you? Well the road is dangerous, I wouldn't be surprised if we see a living one soon." Joanna exclaimed seemingly unaffected by the corpse.

 

 

"You don't seem too bothered about this." I stated as we began walking again.

 

 

"And you are?" She questioned with an aggressive tone forcing it's way into her voice

 

 

"Damn a lost caravan down there." I noticed it a while back when I could smell blood lingering around, it must've been from that.

 

 

"So bandits attacked them but then the bandits died from the cold. That's what I like to call instant justice." Joanna said as she let out a wide grin. She was starting to scare me now, I thought I was terrifying.

 

 

"Anyway the road is long, and we can just see Bruma through the trees, we should get there as quickly as we can." She continued as she hastily left the ruined caravan. i had no choice but to follow her, she didn't know I was a vampire, so I had to make out I would struggle alone.

 

It was nightfall when we finally reached the city but we were eager to find an inn as soon as we were allowed in.

 

"Shall we head inside then?" I asked as I warmed my hands with my cold breath. it was still warmer than the air around us so it wasn't that bad.

 

 

"Well it's that or stay outside." Joanna laughed as she made her way to the door.

 

 

Yeah you're ordering this time." I commanded as we stepped in.

 

 

 

A couple of hours later...

 

"Yeah I'm gonna step outside for a bit, if you don't mind." I said as I began to turn to the door. I was still hungry for something. It was blood I wanted. Blood I needed.

 

 

"Why, I've seen you drink a lot more than that?" Joanna said flattering my talent for handling my wine.

 

 

"It doesn't matter why I'm stepping outside. It's just a change of scenery to the inside of this inn." I explained feigning the need for a change of environment.

 

 

"Well go ahead and head outside, just be back soon, I don't want to have to search all of Bruma for you." Strange she was like a mother already. You can't do this, be back soon I had enough of that from my mother.

 

I got up and made my way outside into the cold air of the night. I just had to hope there'd be someone out alone, then I could drink my fill and leave. I was lying of course, we never just drank our fill and left, we normally killed at least one and injured another. As long as it couldn't be traced back to me then I'd be fine.

 

 

This one seemed lonely enough, and since he's a guard it won't be treated as suspicious until they see the bites, but it's not exactly main street so he might lay a day or two, before he's found.

 

 

I just had to borrow some of his blood. He fought a lot, but he was no match for me. He tried, but the bloodlust created by my own body was too much for him. I drained him dry.

 

 

I needed more, I hadn't fed for a week and I'm having to replace hundreds of years worth of feeding. There has to be someone else out at night.

 

 

He looks good enough.

 

 

A few moments later...

 

That was a lot less exhilarating than I had expected, but a meal is a meal I suppose.

 

 

I was still hungry for something though, yet I was unsure what I wanted and needed so badly.

 

 

 

I need sex, that's what it is, but not from Joanna. Maybe I could perfect one of my spells.

 

 

"I want you to fuck me until you can't any longer beast, that is my command."

The creature gave a confused look, but then I saw something beginning to grow out of the pelvic area. He was huge, this would certainly be fun, or painful. Possibly a strange mix of both, but either way I was in for a long night.

 

 

A few hours later...

 

 

 

Damn it was morning already, and the spell is waning. Well I should probably find Joanna and explain what has happened.

 

 

I found her outside the inn and there was some commotion around, was it that they'd already found the bodies? I hope not that would fuck me over well.

"Where have you been? You left the inn and now you turn up here in the morning." She said in a light tone, but its roots were assertive and callous. Yet her face didn't change.

 

 

"I've been around the city, taking in the sites, I've seen a few places we might want to visit." I said trying to liven the mood even the slightest, but it was unlikely to happen.

 

 

"Wait a second, two people murdered by a vampire, you have a tendency to go out at night. Did you kill them?" She asked, her voice loud and drawing the attention of the crowds now.

 

 

"Well shit."
