So I'm new here...

I am just getting back into Skyrim after a loooong break... I put about 250 hours into it when it first came out, and have found a renewed interest, but that's not why I started this blog. I am new here, and am curious about this very interesting site.

I may have stumbled on this site back when Skyrim first came out, but I didn't explore... I don't know if this site was even established back then, certainly not many mods... which brings me to my point. I have browsed around a little bit, downloaded a few things, but haven't tested anything out yet.

I don't know if anyone could help me out, and point out to me some of the more popular mods and possibly ones that have an ongoing (or finished) story. I could certainly use the distraction from my life right now, lol.

I guess what I'm looking for is a sort of overview of some of these mods.

Sure we can help you out, what would you like to know specifically? Also i don't know any story mods myself, never tried any actually.

Ones I liked for story are Beyond Reach, The Gray Cowl of Nocturnal, The Candle Makers, Rigmor of Burma, The Cheese of Ages,  and the king- Falskaar.

This seems like a good place to start, thank you.

Long story short, I started Skyrim, had too many mods (and no DLC) and my game crashed, so I bought the DLC and reinstalled each mod individually to ensure I got the most recent (and that I did everything correctly) which took a day and a half. So now I'm restarting, so it will take me a while to get around to testing these out, but I do appreciate these suggestions.

This site got popular when you needed it in order to get HDT working. Yes, I'm pretty sure it is just like that. I remember that before HDT (= BBP time), all was fine on the nexus. But when the first HDT hair came out (the ponytail), you needed an account on LL in order to get the mod and it running. No way around.

The reason is obvious: it is the shear power of modding competence and cultural diversity, while still being helpful to the core of the heavy contributors, that makes this community something special. From my point of view.

As for your personal likes: no easy way to get to "enjoy ville"; you will need test most of it, starting with the most popular.

I completely agree, and a good indicator are the most popular, which is why I started this blog really, to find mods that are the most popular.

I'm a big fan of Mod Organizer as it keeps all your mods separate from the game files and each other. No more needing to reinstall just because a mod wrecked your game. Also many mods (most?) wont work with the SE of Skyrim.

I prefer sandbox type mods over story mods so I can't help you out their.

I love MO, I have always used Nexus, but MO is far superior IMO. I am unfamiliar with the term sandbox, lol.

Of course, I was refering to the download section and the register pane "most popular". You could also the check the adult section for mods with the most hits / replies.

In general I dare say that it depends on where you want to go. What your kink is. If you like to see very erotic animations, you go for 0Sex, and if you are for a more whorish kind of game, Sexlab is clearly a must have. Bestiality, BDSM, rape-like content, demons... all Sexlab. And all in many shades of "good and bad" (as for.. hm.. let us call it .. sexual and cultural aspirations).

A nice summary, this helps a lot, thanks. I'll be honest, I'm in "experimentation" mode... what I do know, is that this website is very appealing to me. I have to be careful when I play what mods, though, as there are people I live with who don't need to see this stuff, lol. I'll also say, sexlab has taught me some things... positions and names of positions, lol...
