When Fixing One Issue Leads to Another...

Storms of Superior

So, with the good news regarding fixing my CK problem comes another. I started to rebuild Open Skies Trading Post this morning, and I went through all of the Helgen crap to keep a clean save in order to check out my work so far.

I edited some landscape in order to make a somewhat level place to begin building a more elaborate space. The edited landscape portion of the work shows up in game, but none of the placed objects are there.

I'm stuck with two ideas as to how this has happened. First, I think maybe the CK was performing a process when I launched the game, and it didn't fully add all of the data to the .esp file when I added it to a 7zip archive, therefore losing data. Second, I think maybe the CK just isn't behaving properly. Actually, I'm voting for my own action as the cause of this problem.

Any input is welcome here, and I'll try to clarify any information that I can.

Thanks for reading, and have fun with mods, folks.

There is a known bug of large objects disappearing when placed with the creation kit. This could be the problem. Make the objects "Full LOD," save your plugin and uncheck the  "Full LOD" flag an. If you have this problem for all objects and not just a few large ones something else is wrong...

Btw. you can always coc from the skyrim-main menu in order to get a clean character for testing purposes.

You did save your mod in the CK before launching Skyrim, right? ;)

OK. The objects are large.

So...

-Check the FUll LOD box

-Save

-Uncheck Full LOD box  Don't do this.

Thanks. I'll try that and report here.

Making the larger objects full LOD makes them appear in game. Now to fix some nasty gaps, if I can. The "snap to" function doesn't seem to work anymore.

Another couple of questions: 1) is there any way to select an entire group of objects and make them all level (think level as in making sure the toilet is level) and 2) I forgot how to move trees and bushes; any help?

You mean selecting several objects and rotating them all on their own axes as opposed to a single axis? I don't think that's possible.

And I thought you just moved trees and bushes the same way you'd move any other object...?

There is a bug with trees as well^^. Just restart your creation kit and you should be able to move trees as normal.

The problem with the "Full LOD" is that it is completely wasting performance since you are using high poly objects where you don't need them.

You can use Shit+Q and selection an object to reset the snap function with respect to the selected object. This way other objects will snap to the first one.

OK. This stuff sounds good, with the exception of the fact that I can't target trees. I have so much going on today. I should have waited until tomorrow to come back to this.
