Born on an uncertain date in the month of Rain's Hand, 3e313, Selune's entrance into the world was heavy with chaos. She was told her parents her killed by raiders, but the truth she has yet to learn is her parents were dark wizards, intending to use the soul of their newborn daughter to complete some twisted ritual. Something went awry with the ritual, resulting in the death of both parents and leaving Selune with stunted magicka. This limitation would prove to be the single greatest motivator in her life for well over a century.

She was adopted not long after by a kindly Breton family, Elthor and Lina Highmoss, who already had a daughter of their own, Katene. Selune led a quiet life helping work on their farm north of Anvil. She was loved by her family, and for many long years her life was peaceful, if dull. An aunt began teaching her alchemy. As she grew more skilled, she realized she may finally have a way out of this farm and towards her own life. Bidding her now elderly sister farewell, she set off to Anvil to join the Mages' Guild.

Though her skill with alchemy was enough to gain her admittance, she was eventually tasked with learning magic. It was here that she first realized the state of her stunted magicka. Her colleagues attempted to help her, studying her briefly, but Selune was increasingly humiliated by the whole situation, eventually withdrawing her consent to be studied and taking her pursuit for answers onto herself alone. She remained with the guild, but spent most of her time away, seeking tomes about magical ailments and exploring alchemical means around her limitations. When most leads on a cure or treatment turned out to be dead ends, she changed the focus of her research from seeking a cure to seeking power. She despised her weakness, and as anger set deeper and deeper into her heart, she vowed nothing would stand in her way to gaining the power she should rightfully have.

Her quest was not without is dangers. Living among humans and aging so much slower had taught her patience, but she still knew little of caution, leading her to hasty decisions. One such decision was bedding with a Nord who claimed to know the location of an Ayleid well of power that may be able to infuse Selune with the magicka she was so short on. She seduced him, and he led her to the place, but he was not so easily manipulated as she thought, and he led her into a trap. An Ayleid pendulum slashed deep into her hip, a wound that would have killed her quickly had the Nord not been nearby. He gave her just enough of a healing potion to make her death slow and painful, and there he left her. For long, agonizing hours she laid there, terrified, angry at the Nord, angry at herself. As the last of her strength seemed to be fading, however, she was rescued by a young man exploring the ruin, who gave her a poultice he had and helped her back to his home, a secluded spot in the Great Forest. It was there she would meet and briefly be trained by a mysterious old woman with a knack for throwing knives and a morbid sense of humor. While she recovered, she aided in teaching one of the children who lived with the old woman alchemy - a young boy named Lucien Lachance.

She would never forget this encounter or the lessons she learned from it, and took those lessons back with her to the Mages' Guild. She was offered a position teaching Alchemy to first-year students at the Arcane University, which she eagerly took. Better location, higher pay, access to a vast library... it was perfect. It was during her time here that she first met Maechen Yv'Nalaryn, who would break her heart by inadvertently referring to her as someone else. She would hate him for a long time afterwards, but could never forget him in spite of herself. She taught for several years before a student decided to play a prank. He tried to dose a potion of hers to make her fall asleep during a lecture to embarrass her, but Selune instead offered the potion to her friend, an Argonian named Swift-Song, without knowing of the prank. Sadly, Swift-Song was deathly allergic to the sleeping ingredient, and was found some time later, dead. Whispers of poisoning floated around the University, culminating in Selune's arrest and brief incarceration. None of her so-called friends of colleagues came to her defense. Vengeance filled her heart as she was granted her freedom.

After the events of the Oblivion Crisis, she and Maechen got back together. Before he left for the Summerset Isles, they made love one last time, and he was gone. She sent many letters trying to tell him she was pregnant, but never received a response. She was bitter at being left alone with child, but resolved to do the best she could. She named their daughter Eldawen, after a relative of Maechen's, and moved to Skyrim to get away from what was clearly becoming the epicenter of growing tensions. And not a moment too soon, as shortly after they settled into Whiterun, the Great War broke out. Selune and Eldawen avoided most of the hardships of the war. Life was peaceful again after the war ended, though the political climate of Skyrim was thick with tension. It was at this point that a knock would come at her door. Eldawen answered an called her mother over. And there he was, gone for over a century - Maechen.

Selune is only romantically interested in men. Though she is not normally sexually attracted to women, she does appreciate the female form and has no issue engaging in some girl-on-girl if the situation lends itself to it.

She has more submissive tendencies than anything else, but does from time to time find herself in more "forward" or "playful" moods.

Though it's preferable to avoid this, Selune can and has used sex as a means to get what she wants. This, coupled with her desire for power, has led her to some interesting encounters, such as ritual orgies and offering her body as payment for services.

Selune is exceptionally skilled at giving blowjobs. While she doesn't enjoy sucking dick in and of itself, she takes great pleasure in making her partner feel good and very much enjoys watching and feeling the response from her partner to a well-given blowjob.
