Possible Daedric Slave Tattoo Design

One of the things I like about deadric script is that you don't have to conform to left-to-right. It's perfectly acceptable to spell a word clockwise from the first letter, which by convention is the largest.

So I started playing with the letters S-L-A-V-E. I mean, as you do.

I quite like the letters. The word looks nicely predatory, as if the outer letters are keeping the inner ones prisoner. Under some duress I might add. Not so sure about the circle of thorns around it, but I thought it needed something.

Not sure what to do with it now. It would work on the right cheek (without the thorns anyway) but would look weird on the left. Could also work for belly or back.

I've got a few more ideas for glyphs in this style, but some of them might make into P,V so I'm keeping quiet on that for now.

The circle of thorns looks more like stars to me. I'd suggest either an actual circle of thorns, i.e. vines with actual thorns, or even some sort of weird barb-wire effect (pm attachment).

If you take a look at the banners and signs in Morrowind, you'll notice that they're all over the place. It looks like the first letter is the largest (and often colored), and subsequent letters follow a simple placement pattern.

The upshot is, not only is it acceptable to use nonstandard layouts for letters, it's practically compulsory in some venues. :)

Yeah, the morrowind banners is where what started me thinking about it.

I'll have a re-think on the thorn idea. I'm just doodling at this point anyway :)
