Close to figuring this out

Storms of Superior

I'm back with the same issue that was presented yesterday. http://www.loverslab.com/blog/152/entry-1132-a-little-help-in-learning/

I looked it up in the CK, and, sure enough, the clothing from the mods that meant to be dependencies are just missing, rendering the NPCs that are supposed to wear them naked, except for the circlets, which are, of course, present, since they are vanilla items.

I'm going to ask what I'm missing again, now that I've identified a big clue in this mystery; the stuff doesn't show. Am I supposed to do something with TES5edit?

What mod(s) are you trying to pull from? Does it make a difference if they're packed or unpacked? It shouldn't, but...

And would it be easier to just drag and drop the items into the NPC inventories and give them no default outfit, rather than creating an outfit? I've had some success doing that, but other times it seems like the NPCs don't want to wear anything unless it's part of an outfit.

if the items you are adding are coming from other ESP files, they won't be saved. you'll have to convert the esp to esm (even if it still ends in .esp) with something like wyrebash > "esmify self" in that case. then after you save in CK you can espify it back.

for example my Windrunner mod has an expansion for devious devices. if i ever need to edit the expansion esp again i have to esmify the original esp first or else the expansion will forget everything when i save it. then espify back before uploading to LL.

Thank you both. Darkconsole nailed the problem, it would seem; I figured that I was doing all that could be done with the CK and that I should using another tool in the process. I will try that in my next attempt. I think the next attempt will be the last for this mod.

I'm also thinking that I should just relax and not worry that I haven't worked on my existing projects; so what if I spit out a dozen mods over the course of learning g how to make them happen.

Thanks again.
