What Is IntInt and Why Should I Run Away From It Screaming?

Of course the "I" is me, not you the reader. As I prepare to expand the dialogue from "Generic request for sex" into something worth the time it takes to read (of course the "I" is not me, but rather my writers), I need to at least get some of the details for Agent's special dialogue variables written down. Since Agent will involve many missions over an extended period of time, mostly given out by the same NPC, it occurred to me that this NPC should become aware of your tendencies and abilities.

Let's Talk Karma

Karma is one of those things. You know, the ones that never quite work like they should but no one really knows how to make it do that. Fallout treats karma as a line. D&D treats it as a square. Mass Effect treats it as two different lines. BG2 treats it as a square and a line.   Here's my concept for the "perfect" karma system, intended to take advantage of the NVSE Extender's ability to essentially create an infinite number of variables on the fly. Unfortunately, the functions don't exis

The Quest Log: A Question of Omniscience

Those of you who played Covert Op back when it was in SexoutStore know that the only way to complete it is to fail it. Because the quest is entirely a setup for later events, the player can't possibly complete their objective so no matter what the get told Quest Failed. This confused a lot of people. Now I'm in the process of making a quest where the player gets told Quest Complete before the quest actually ends.   The reason I've done both these things is because I'm treating the Quest Log as

I'm Going To Try To Post More

Not that many people read this. Does anyone read this? I honestly don't know. Anyway, I asked for help here and here and I'd still like it if possible. I need 50 of these, so any contributions people can come up with would be greatly appreciated.   Also, I just noticed this. I have no idea when or how this happened and am not sure whether I should be happy or frightened.

Tileset Quandries

I just want to know who was responsible for creating the Vault tileset and why they set up the windows in the high ceiling pieces in-between tiles so that it's impossible to have anything connected both to that window and the rest of the cell.

By Popular Demand

I've made the decision to tweak the mission setup of Tier 1 (again). I've decided to move Shaken, Not Stirred into Tier 2 and replace it with either Hot Pursuit or Hair Trigger. There are two major reasons for this, 1) I'm waiting for CK to write Shaken, Not Stirred for me and 2) Hot Pursuit and Hair Trigger are dungeon quests and there really should be one of those in every Tier.   There are also two things standing in my way, 1) Hot Pursuit really should have a new tileset (currently using

Feature Creep 101

First I'd like to note that as thing stand right now, I'll be releasing the Tier 1 beta on May 1st. I'm just tired of the GECK right now.   Now let's talk about feature creep. There are a lot of features that I'd like to implement but are kind of unnecessary. Thankfully, I'm smart enough to recognize which they are (most of the time). But I also foresee large periods of inactivity due to waiting for concepts for future missions. So here are some things, in no particular order, that will eventu

Yesterday I Wrote An Ending

The ever-so-annoying thing about Agent is that the fun stuff doesn't really start for a while. That's not to say the early-Tier quests won't be fun and/or interesting. It's just that the storyline doesn't kick in until Tier 5 and the majority of the major characters aren't really introduced until Tier 8 with one waiting until Tier 10 to show up. So when I sit down to work on Agent my mind inevitably wanders to the later Tiers.   But that's not what I made this post for. I made this post to not

Here's A Thing I Did

Oh, right. RoomMarkers. Why can't the GECK-PU fix this? Let's try again: That's better. So that's the thing I did. What does it mean? I'm not telling.

So This Is What Happened Last Week

I kinda forgot I had put this thing here, though since it has zero followers and I failed to mention its existence on either of the SexoutAgent threads, I don't think anybody cared.   So here's what I got done last week, in no particular order: Started on the area to be used for the (optional pre-rendered) opening cutscene. Made some tweaks to Covert Op so people who have run through it before have something new to look for. Finally got around to revamping the rank system. Also moved

Introducing the SexoutAgent Development Blog

This blog will be, basically, a list of all the progress I make on SexoutAgent. All of it. Including the really itty-bitty details no one really cares about, and the spoiler-ific stuff regarding the final tiers (though I'll hide those in spoiler boxes). Development is kind of slow at the moment (for multiple reasons) so don't expect much in the way of actual progress for a bit. I might upload some design docs here and there in the hopes that it sparks some ideas for later tiers.
