Entry #9

Lol! My blog comments were disabled and I've only just noticed. I was wondering why it was so quiet. What a dummy.   Right now I'm making some sort of Matrix-esque accessories pack. I always liked that fashion style. Hoping to maybe release something over the winter. I'm going to try modeling this:         Also started learning how to make transparent textures. Still sketchy, but got them working on my visor:

OK, my first armour is finished! I think!   I added boots, and even managed to get world models working (tougher than it seems...).   If you want to be my personal beta tester ( ), send me a PM and I will send the files to you. The outfit is made for UNPB, and you need to have the HDT Heels system for the boots to work properly.   Here are some pics:

Alright, so my first armour project is pretty much done.   I now understand why some people only make models for 100 weight. What a major pain the in ass. Aside from that, this was a lot of fun.   As you can see, I deleted the greaves; they didn't match the cuirass, the textures were giving me trouble, and the knees were clipping through. I just couldn't be bothered spending another day fixing something that looked like butt anyway.   After a short break, I'll probably make some boots.

Began modeling my first ever armour today--yippee! The most difficult part so far has been figuring out what to actually make. I don't have any concept art or references or anything, but it's loads of fun and I'm pretty happy with it.   This is the 0 weight version, with a place-holder texture. I still want to add pauldrons, some butt protection, and do some more work on the legs. Also not sure about the holes in the middle; it's one of those style vs. practicality things.   Here are a coupl

First real attempt with the extrude tool today. I used it to make a turtle-neck. Came out with a pretty nice jumper (which I promptly ruined with the most vomit-inducing festive texture I could find).   I'm debating on whether or not to delete body parts hidden by the outfit; it seems like good practice, but I can't think of an easy way to keep the vertex count on the bodies the same. Two Blender windows maybe...? There must be some little trick to it.   To do: -Learn more about seams -Simpl

My node issue is present in other people's NIFs, so I'm probably just over-reacting to some minor oddity. I guess that happens when you spend half of your Skyrim time fixing the game rather than playing it. My weight slider works now too, but only if the outfit is built on the _0 body first. Whatever. I'll find out why eventually.   Today I made these wet-look tights (leggings? Dunno what they're called). They look good with the Racing Girl boots, but they clip through horribly at the back bec

Alright, so I managed to get the weight slider working.   20 weight:     100 weight:     Now I just need to find out how.   The only thing I did differently was to use the normal UNPB body & skeleton, rather than the cleavage version. For some reason, my _0 & _1 weights of the cleavage version are a different filesize, which may have been why my meshes were distorting.   The nodes are still out of whack though. I have no idea if that affects anything or not. More testing

Hello. Okay, so apparently the new site is FUBAR and the administrator is doing a rollback, so I'll just start from here.   For anyone who missed the first iteration, this is where I'll be posting screenshots, cool mods, and other general Skyrim stuff.   Having also just learned how to model new items with Blender/NifSkope, I am hoping to share some of those in the future as well.   So, my first skirt mesh gained a simple sweater last night. The result looks quite nice, though I am having
