Kaldor Draigo Posted May 18, 2018 Posted May 18, 2018 i just got a notification yesterday or the day before that i need to shutdown or restart my computer to install the update anyone know what it is?
Storms of Superior Posted May 18, 2018 Posted May 18, 2018 i got that a few days ago. It was a long update process, but my computer works better, so far. Also, it's Windows 10.
Guest Posted May 18, 2018 Posted May 18, 2018 17xx to 1803? Or maybe they discovered a driver wasn't new enough? And the buzz on google is, they took some stuff out that people used to have, maybe the old-guy retired at Microsoft (They never say *why* they change and "deprecate" stuff) I'd like to think Microsoft is protecting the world once again from relentless, ever-vigilant evil hackers, but That's my fantasy.
FauxFurry Posted May 18, 2018 Posted May 18, 2018 I hope that isn't the reason I've been getting unhandled win32 exceptions for Skyrim Special Edition every time that I try to load up a save or start a new game.
ToJKa Posted May 18, 2018 Posted May 18, 2018 The "Spring Creators Update" probably. This year's huge annual update for Win 10. So far no BSOD, just some new spyware
Sagebrush61 Posted May 18, 2018 Posted May 18, 2018 Make sure you re-do your privacy and permissions settings. They've added new categories and they always give default permissions to new programs to "send all my personal information to microsoft".
RaTMan71 Posted May 20, 2018 Posted May 20, 2018 I have actually had problems downloading this update, my Windows Update has been really glitchy lately, it couldn't download the April Cumulative Security Update either. My latest attempt at downloading the Spring Creator update resulted in weird occurances: It went from 'Preparing to install' to 'Preparing to Download' to 'Downloading' but then after a while it went back to 'Preparing to Download'. My Windows Update doesn't know whether it's coming or going. I even tried the official Microsoft troubleshooter to no effect. I don't need anything but the security updates really, and luckily they installed fine.
Fifoo Posted May 20, 2018 Posted May 20, 2018 "Microsoft pays a lot of attention to gaming, and considers gamers a valuable part of the whole Windows community. Therefore, the company includes some threats for gamers in every major update for Windows 10. And besides the new features, major Windows 10 updates also solve certain issues related to gaming." I do not even want to mention the person who made this comment on https://windowsreport.com because it's so contradictory ... To see all the problems encountered at each update of Win 10 lead me to have no desire to migrate to this OS, for the moment at least. WindowsReport WindowsReport Windows 10 April Update
